just wonderin, how often do you buy golf clothes? i just bought another belt and realized i had a total of seven. plus i got a bunch of custom loose buckles and straps lyin around. personnally i think you should look sharp, bright, but not so loud it's offensive.

i was taught always to look dignified on the golf course, whether it's a run-down muni or a beautiful private club that i have no business being near. i like looking good on the golf course and like to make sure not to conform to the old thinking that golfers are big, fat, and wear really big polo shirts. i like all my clothes to be fitted, including my golf attire. being younger helps me not look like an old guy trying to emulate camilo. i wear very classic colors on the course and make sure that it looks turns heads, without looking like jesper parnevik (although i do like some of his threads). i also wear burberry, lacoste, and puma golf. i love my puma stuff. refreshing styles that look classy and young at the same time.

I've been really impressed with the Under Armour golf clothing.
Merlin_T
I love to buy new clothes and I often have to stop myself (too much shirts biggrin.gif ) Same for the work stuff (i'm wearing suits & ties). I usually wear Ping, Cleveland, Nike, Footjoy & Aureus apparels'. Bought many on EBay (3-Balls, Namebrandgolfshirts), Golftown and... Winners' biggrin.gif

Ping shirts from "Namebrand Shirts" on eBay or from her store. You pay about 60% of retail for tour logo stuff.

I guess you could say I'm obsessed. I've worked in luxury retail for a while now and made friends with people at other labels so I'm always getting new stuff. In fact, I just got a pair of Ralph Lauren Purple Label pants for $50 that will look nice out on the course this winter.
jcigars
I've been wearing allot of Ashworth shirts and pants and I like them allot. I have several belts made by the House of Fleming with buckles made by Bettinardi.

I have a lot of Nike, Sligo, and Cutter and Buck. My favorite is Sligo, most comfy and best fitting around. Although I'm about to give up on Cutter and buck, there shirts are getting way too supersized. I now need a small and the small seems to come untucked easily since it's so short. the medium stays tucked in but makes me look kind of frumpy.

+1. She is fantastic and quick shipping. I have purchased about 15 shirts from her in the past year. She even has Ryder Cup shirts now.

I am a Vineyard Vines guy - shorts, shirts, belts & hats/visors.

even more brand suggestions. thanks.

When Its cold its Tommy Bahama pants/camp shirts with FJ Classics. Hots days will be any brand as long as I match, its a gentleman's game so why not look the part!

I love golf shirts. Specifically I love Nike's Tiger Woods line, Adidas as well as the Masters (if I had the funds, I would just buy one of virtually every shirt at Augusta National) and Bethpage private labe stuff. In addition, I search the UK eBay site for Wilson Staff shirts. I've gotten 3 sharp looking mocks, 2 polos and a vest for under $100 and I have yet to see anyone but me wearing any W/S stuff.

I also found 4 Taylor Made shirts (3 short sleeve, 1 long sleeve) and 2 vests (reversable) on eBay that were sold only in Japan that I really like as well.
InTheHole
I like both Tehama and Ashworth also.

We were at a business conference at the Marriot at TPC Sawgrass last year... I spent over $600 in the golf shop just buying Sawgrass shirts- that doesn't sound like a lot but... they had a one day sale and most of the shirts I bought were $25! My wife (the clothes nut) finally dragged me out of there before I broke the bank! Talk about irony.

Unfortunately I didn't get to play Sawgrass, just didn't fit into the schedule. Hopefully next January.

Namebrandgolfshirts rocks, she has great stuff at great prices.

I wear nothing but Nike. I love the form and function of the clothes. I am a huge fan of Nike, Tiger is a perk. I live near 2 Nike and Adidas outlets, but just can not do Adidas. Nike just fits better for me. In the winter time I dress better on the course than anywhere else. I feel like if you are going to play, you should look sharp.
j0npeterson
I'm a big fan of Under Armour, Adidas ClimaCool, and Nike (TW Platinum).
HackerD
In addition to looking good, I like Nike's moisture wicking system best - I always feel cool and dry.
Deerslayer
PUMA, J. Lindeberg, & Sligo

My son is all about style and he owns NUMEROUS pairs of Puma golf shoes and clothes. He is always the best dressed player. He dresses more Euro than american but he pulls it off.
DavidR
I typically wear Adidas Climacool but mix in Sligo, Puma and Poulter from time to time. I really like this euro style stuff but can't pull much of it off.

Im partial to Mizuno golf clothes. I recently bought a Mizuno Windblocker vest and a Mizuno golf shift and they are awesome.
I always wear black and I wear a belt with a big ole belt buckle. Last Sunday was the first time I played with a big belt buckle I played the best Ive ever played, so there must be something to it.

Buried..........BTW I have nothing against skateboarders or snowboarders.......my son is a boarder
fore_life
cool, its just a touchy subject for me hahaha. I started skating before it became kind of cool and I took years of harrasment and whatnot solely because I rode a skateboard, so Im a little sensitive haha
Gollum_X
On the golf course always and only Loudmouth Pants and the shirt from my Golf Community that could be Flash yellow or Dark Blue...

Anyway guys, happy to join this great coommunity...

I have some truly horrible ugly clothes I will wear occasionally,
but for the most part I buy Peter Millar or Ralph Lauren.

This next year plan on going against the grain and going Nostalgic. I've got nothing against the newer "Euro" look,, nut it's jut not me. I'm kinda tired of the "Golf Uniform".

Cap (not baseball style)
Shirt and Tie
Vest or sweater
Trousers (wool blends)
Shoes with Tassels

Of course off weather attire I'll go for the latest driest thing available.
bboard
Puma
FootJoy
Izod
Polo
Adidas
Under Armour

It depends on the course on how loud I'll dress. If I'm playing a little muni, I'll keep it somewhat simple. If I'm playing at better course or sometimes a CC, I'll make a little crazier. I've got two pair of Loudmouth pants and probley ten pair of plaid shorts from loud to subtle. I've got 3 pair of Puma shoes to match.
seypat
Sounds like we have a bunch of Metrosexuals on here! Nothing wrong with that!

Back to the clothes. I buy top quality whatever is on sale. I prefer my clothes, hat, etc. to have no visible logos if possible. I am not an endorser and don't get paid so no reason for any product promotion. No specific brand except no Nike or Taylor Made-Addidas. Don't ask me why the answer is in the Nike hater thread.

In my opinion, (does'nt mean it is right) all those logos may make you look like a professional, but it sucks all of the "style" from a person's appearance. Like those big Addidas stripes above the shoulders or those huge ponies that Polo is plastering on their apparel. Tacky looking.

This thread is borderline gay.

These belts are pretty bad-a**.

I have turned into a Puma ho recently and love much of their stuff. It is pretty sweet that Myrtle Beach has the Puma outlet for great deals.
JNewsted
Ive played a lot more upscale courses or just ones I want to look nice at. I still will wear the cargo pants at the stinky muni I play a lot at.

Name brand isnt incredibly important, though I like Nike's and Pings a lot. No need to spend $85 on a freaking shirt, so most of my stuff I'll buy at big discount. PGA Tour shirts at JC Penney go for like $12-$20 and I'll buy a couple if they look nice. Also, I'll pick up a couple closeout shirts with course logos if I can.

I also bought a sweater-vest thingy. It looks sweet.

Luckily, all the summer clothes are 50% off in the midwest because it's almost winter.

Don't forget about the Kangol hat. Payne Stewart style.
lsu_justin
I like to wear Brooks Brothers.

European golfers have always been some of the best dressed so it seemed a must to check out what they have to offer. Have you seen www.stylishgolf.com They have cool shoes, pants, belts and yes shirts as well. All can be adapted to form different outfits depending on your fav colours. Check em out they have 20% off right now and the strong dollar is great
Swank
This is strange, all those european guys all have your
user name on their hats and pants, what a coincidence.

Is there any site out there like these that carry Polo Golf shirts? I have really gotten to where I like these the best. And what about shorts and pants? Anything places that specialized in this?

That stuff would be AWESOME if I wanted to dress like a clown and wear cheap shoes!!!  I would be all over it!  Ok, ok....  A skinny clown that hasnt seen the gym.  Had to be specific.....

btw: Tiger Woods collection

I agree about the above pictures...the pants with the matching color of the shirts are horrible looking. There is a difference between classy and colorful and goofy/stupid colorful.

Got some great Puma pants and 2 more JL shorts from Golfsmith clearance in Raleigh. $166 for all three items that originally total $260+, thank you clearance and an additional 40% off!

For nearly 20 years, I was a strictly loyal Ashworth guy.

However, I've started to buy Adidas shirts the last 2 seasons because they do well here in the South. The Ashworth designs were lacking. I always had enjoyed that I could wear an Ashworth shirt on the course and out to dinner, too. Plus, again, Adidas shirts did a much better job of holding up in humidity without looking as funky as some of the Ashworth "tech" shirts.

The 2008 Ashworth designs gave me some renewed hope --- I preferred the Third Groove collection. Plus, I got my hands on the "Silver Label" collection at the Ashworth Outlet in Arizona. I was highly impressed. I've tried to keep an eye out for any Silver Label shirts, but they are very hard to find. Since it was the premium line, I figure it's reserved for the high-end private club channel.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that TMAG's purchase of Ashworth will work. Maybe even John Ashworth will find it worth his trouble to stick around.
