On Saturday afternoons Ryder Cup play I thought I'd seen an incident between Poulter and Kim,
Kim shoulder barges Poulter

Two points
One, I'd really like to see video of this to confirm how it happened, so we can make up our own minds as to whether it was deliberate or not on AK's part.
Two, the longer the European team continue to make comments of this nature, the worse will be the accusations that they are poor losers and 'whiners' as has been stated so many times on so many other threads and with increasing justification. It is now too late to make excuses of any sort - it is history. The US won fair and square. From what I saw (and I didn't see any coverage of the morning foursomes on either day but quite a bit of the rest) the crowd behaviour was exactly as I would have expected. Passionate but fair.
Incidentally, even the (odious) print media here in the UK has begun to take this line - that there is too much whingeing going on.
The best response, as in all sport, to any perceived injustice is to button your lip and make sure that next time you win.

We got used to the occasional on course heckling by spectators and cheering on missed putts (courtesy of Mr. Azinger)...but nightly telephone calls?
Damn we're gonna be seen as totally bad losers....;-)
Boo went over the line, apologized and that was settled....then came the ride on no. 1...
Hopefully Kim will grow up in two years time, as he'll be on the next team as sure as Faldo ain't gonna be the euro captain.
And again, nobody uses the american players' behaviour as an excuse, merely pointing out that it wasn't in the spirit of the game of golf.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! These are pros, they gotta handle whatever is coming their way.

1) Shoulder bumps are always a two way street, neither party decided to walk around the other, neither party yielded. Had Poulter been standing there, maybe I'd side with him, but according to his own words he was walking too...mutual contact.
2) Article itself is funny. It describes Anthony Kim's belt buckle as garish, which is fine, but I just thought it reserved in comparison to Poulter's usual mode of dress. Then it calls Kim's antics as over-the-top, while using this picture of Poulter, which is apparently in "the right spirit" and the picture of maturity.

That picture probably is taken after winning a match or at least holing an important putt. And not after being conceded a putt for a half like with Anthony K.
Poulter is english for god's sake...showing emotions is just not in their blood. They just do it every two years, in some golf team comp...

I agree that Europe were beaten by the better team - on all three days.
However the behaviour of the US fans (and some players) can't just be ignored. Yes they were on a high and believed they could win (good on them and I'm personally happy that they did win as it maked the Ryder Cup that much more competitive), but there is such a thing as sportsmanship which I think s still alive and well in golf today. The fans, well I expected them to overstep the line and they did on occasions (the mother related comments to Lee Westwood for example), maybe that is just their way, as disappointing as it is, but the behaviour of some of the players was bang out of line.
Why can't this just be about golf - best team wins (and the US were the best team) - rather than all this 13th man rubbish.
Overall a truly great Ryder Cup but tarnished (yet again) but the behaviour of a few iditos - imho.

If the story is true as related..............AK was in the wrong and should be issuing a public apology.

exactly ! and I would like to add this quote from Poulter "they would like to walk through me, as opposed to walking around me," sound like Poulter thinks of himself a little too highly and felt AK should be the one moving and not himself. Ak is not the only one at fault here.

Wow all this b.s. is just never going to end. Poulter played a great Ryder Cup, why complain? They won that match, what's the purpose? I can assure you this much, the crowd and players will be under a microscope from US fans and media come 2010. The tiniest perceived slight will be scrutinized and deliberated over. I'm not looking forward to that part of it, but it's gonna happen.

That's a bit stereotypical

. I'm pretty sure the football crowds have a different perspective hahaha...but yeah it was after he holed a putt to win his fourball match on Saturday arvo. They look like they are both very competitive people though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had a little nudge as they walked past each other

Hhhmmmm ... thread after thread. EU fans have acted just as boorishly when it was on their side of the fence. EU players, in the past, have engaged in just as much gamesmanship as Americans. The US has lost a lot in recent years - but I do not ever recall endless bitching about EU players, or fans.
It appears here, however, as though nearly a quarter of the posts and threads about this year's Cup are along the lines of "The US played great ... but ..." ... and then criticism about the players, or the fans. Thing is ... I suspect none of this would even have been mentioned if the EU would have won.
I could see a bit of griping ... but this has now become one of the dominant themes of the discussion. OMG! The crowd cheered when a guy missed a putt! OMG! A certain American player shoulder-bumped me!!! From a larger perspective ... do you realize how petty this all sounds?
You want to talk about boorish behavior by American players and fans? Good ... how about talking about the ultimate in boorish behavior ... being poor losers.

hahaha...how about that for rubbing it in and being a poor winner

. It does sound petty, but it's also sad as this isn't NFL we're talking about...in the end it's still a gentleman's game and you respect others' game.

It's a fine line. We wouldn't hear this criticism had the US lost.

But we would be hearing it if the Euros were winning and acting the way the Americans were methinks
