Man, I was hoping it would be much more dramatic - but for some reason, it was all subdued, all the way around. Even the way they celebrated as a group at the end, they just didn't seem like team members as it was much more, in the past.
What happened to Europe? They didn't show.
May be it's time they quit this competition - it's lost its shine.

Were you watching the Ryder Cup on NBC??? If so, I don't know how you make the statements you made. Are you trying to be funny? The last three days have been the best three days of golf I can ever remember. The level of play - both U.S. and Europe is something to be awed by. Definitely the best golf I have ever seen. You pretty much had to be 5 or 6 under to win a match. Simply amazing.

I spent today out there and it was one of the best sporting events that I have ever been too. NFL playoffs, NCAA Tourney, Olympics, plenty of big time college athletics and this was by far the best experience that I have ever witnessed. I used to loop out there during the summer and to Valhalla on the grand stage again was awesome. I loved this weekend because the guys made birdies. i get tired of watching the US Open and British and 4 over winning the title. I want to watch pros stuffing it close to pins and making putts from everywhere. I hope the PGA brings something back here.

Good point. It was actually refreshing to hear cheers on the golf course for a change. It seems like the majors these days are becoming snooze fests! Either Tiger storms away from the field or par becomes the equivilant of a birdie and the greens get so crazy that keeping the ball on the surface is an achievement. Hopefully the powers that be sit up and take notice, although to be fair that would be unlike them!

It wasn't boring for me, anytime I get to see the best players in the world play golf its enjoyable. Especially where its not the same old stroke play 4 round tournaments and you see guys go to head to head with something other than money on the line. I mean watching Anthony Kim just play phenominal shot after shot was awesome.
If you didn't enjoy this then its time to start watching another sport.

I live less than an hour from Annandale where the Viking Classic was being held. I was offered two free tickets for Saturday's and Sunday's action. With no hesitation, I said no thanks, I'll be staying at home and watching the Ryder Cup. Boy, did I make the right decision. I would have loved to supported the only PGA Tour event in Mississippi but I had to watch the Ryder Cup.

This is first Ryder Cup I've watched and to me it was a phenomenal display of true competition. To me this Ryder Cup was everything and more of what I expected, I never rooted against the EU I just wanted the US to play better. I can never route against anyone, except for one player but that's a whole other story.
It was compelling around 3-5:30pm EST Sunday, exciting all weekend and something I can't wait 2 years for. I guess I will have to, but there's always the Fall series.

This OP is either a troll, just being sarcastic or is just an idiot. Doesn't make any difference to me. Make no mistake, this Ryder Cup could have EASILY gone the other way, even in the final day.
I think I've seen more compelling golf (e.g. this years U.S. Open), but I have absolutely NEVER seen SO MANY golfers under these conditions playing such high level golf. There were several golfers (on both sides) out there today that could have matched up favorably even to Tiger's A-game.

Were we watching the same Ryder cup?
As a European I thought that the USA played very well under great home pressure to win.
Once the cup was secured, yes it went a little flat.
But at least it wasn't all over after the first 2 days.
I think the USA have realized that the foursomes and fourballs set you up for the final day.

ALL golf should be this exciting... Match play in and of itself is more exciting than stroke play- it allows players to take chances they otherwise wouldn't take.
I think the gallery at all tournaments should act this way- it was great to see! And it was exciting to see each match go back and forth, especially singles on Sunday. There was definitely a point on Sunday where it could have gone either way.
I would ask what you would define as an exciting golf tournament then?

Heck, there was some drama and some of the best golf I have ever seen from a lot of players all at the same time. Most birdies I've seen in one weekend. US stepped up and did what they needed to do!
