I have a bachelor party this weekend, and I have a backup course near where we are staying Friday night (foxwoods, Elmridge GC).
However, the second night is in Providence and ideally we would like something closer to there. The problem is everything seemingly is hosting tournaments. I have tried Exeter CC and Cranston CC, I am trying Triggs tomorrow, is there anyone from the area that can offer up a recommendation for a mid level course (nice, but accomodating to a couple of hackers in the groups)
Thanks in advance

Out of the 3 you listed, I would go in this order:
1. Triggs
2. Exeter
3. Cranston
Triggs is always packed on the weekends though. It might be tough to get a tee time for all of those people.

There are a limited supply of public access courses in the Providence area.
You might want to try the following: Crystal Lake ( north of Prov.)
North Kingstown (south of Prov.) or the other side of the bay, Newport National, or Green Valley.
here's the link to the RIGA and the local courses. Good luck

It is just weird because I have called 6 courses 3 near foxwoods and 3 near Providence and 5 of the 6 are having tournaments. It seems really weird because around Boston where I live, courses never, or very rarely hold tournaments on weekends. I guess it just took me by surprise.

Because of the time of year, and the fact they are public acccess courses.
Did you try Monatup in Portsmouth, RI they allow public after 1:30 on weekends.?
