Looking for a good sunday bag and am leaning towards titleist but need opinions.
teeman2116
I have a Titleist 80 carry bag and love it. The only downside to the bag is it is not waterproof, so if you play early in the morning when there is dew, or it is raining, your bag will probably get wet.

P.S. The early morning dew doesn't really affect your clubs or anything.

i am a caddy so i use the lightest bag possible. the new titleist sunday bag keeps my clubs dry and i will never switch again.

i saw an ogio one in the golf store the other day, i can't remember the name but it was pretty sweet!

I use my Titleist one pretty much all the time. I like how light it is and even if it's a little wet in the morning, my clubs don't get too wet.

I like it more than some of the others because the big pocket is large enough to toss in a jacket on a cold day. And the weight is perfect.

I only use mine on Mondays.

I use a 6" Nike pencil bag 90% of the time. Plenty of room for 14 clubs and the bare essentials. If it's teaming with rain I use a heavier stand bag, simply to keep it from getting soaking wet from the turf. It feels ridiculously heavy and bulky when I use it simply because I'm used to the little bag - plus my pencil bag has a single strap that's far better for carrying; cursed as I am with carrying my bag on my left shoulder which causes problems with all the shaped dual strap affairs that are the norm these days but sadly designed to fit the other shoulder.

I've also got a really old Ping L8 carry bag that still sees service. Still the best 'full-sized' carry bag ever made in my opinion - and you've got to love the olde worlde charm of a bag that's got a piece of wooden dowelling holding it all together. Plus it's, again, got a proper strap on it.

Lol, I've got an old Ping L8 bag that I use every round mate. It used to have a stand but that started to fall apart years ago so I pulled it off. It used to be black but after years of fertilizer and sun damage, it looks more gray. And finally, it used to have the wooden rod holding it together but that broke and was replaced with an old X100 3 wood shaft a couple of years ago!

I'm looking for something new and the Titleist 80 caught me eye as well. The Ping Moon Lite is just a little bit too small for a full set. Can anyone confirm if the Titleist will comfortably hold 14 clubs?

I've got a Ping Moon Lite and it WILL hold 14 clubs because I do it all the time. I love my Moon Lite and the strap is very handy and comfy. I haven't seen the Titleist version except on the web, but do you really think it's..... wait, I was going to say $30 better, but I just now noticed on golfsmith's website that it has the Moon Lite listed at $60. That's crazy because I bought mine new for $30. WTH? Ok, I just checked other places and the consensus is $35. That's more like it. Anyways, yes I'm biased, but the Moon Lite is perfect. The Titleist probably has more storage, but doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of carrying a sunday bag in the first place? Just asking...

Wow, I also just noticed that they have a Moon Lite II out now that's even cooler!!! Bigger pocket, but unfortunately bigger price... bummer

My Nike bag is smaller than the Ping Moon Bags and it's perfectly capable of carrying a full set and then some. I've been setting out recently with 17 and 18 clubs in the bag since I've been carrying a few extra irons alongside my regular set to try out a new set I bought on the course, side-by-side with my gamers. It's a bit tight, but there's no problem whatsoever with them all fitting in.

Titleist Sunday bag here...used is for about 2 years, and except for a bit of wear it is great...don't worry about the dew or rain, most bags were laid on the ground until about 10 years ago when stand bags became the rage. Your back will thank you later.

I use the last years Ping Moon bag for every round. My regular golf buddy has the titliest. Titty is bigger and probably will last longer. Titty has pockets, which the new ping has. I would say that though I love the Ping and the fact that the strap stands up for easy pick up the titty is better. Thicker material and pockets etc. I am waiting to see the new ping, but would probably go with the Titleist next time. Oh and yes waterproofing is a fctor on both these bags. Scotch guard will fix that on both, and 14 clubs no problem on both, though I use 13!!!

sun mountain swift is the way to go!!!!!

Have you investigated the titty X81??; which is basically a sunday bag with the luxury of a stand .

I have heard good things about it.

I was looking at the Titleist X70. Dicks has them for $19.99. THe tag says it weighs 2 lbs., for an extra .75 lb. or so you could get a Sun Mountain Mini, which has a dual strap and stand. It almost seems like the mini is the way to go.

Thanks mate. I guess I alway presumed that the original Moon Lite was too small for a full set! If you're saying it fits, that's what I'm going to get.

The Moon Lite II looks nice but because of it's release, the original Moon Lite can be had for a bargain. I've just found one online for £22! (trust me, that's cheap in the U.K).

Villa,

Where did you get your Moon Lite online? I'm from Edinburgh but can't seem to find any UK websites selling them. Would prefer the Moon Lite II to be honest but again can only seem to find it from US sites and the shipping costs a fortune!!

Cheers.

I've got a Ping Mantis that I use and it is a great, light Sunday bag with a small stand included which is really clever.
