Has anyone played in Lake Tahoe? Do you know how much of an adjustment I would have to make for the elevation? I am located in Atl, Ga so would it be a difference of 1 club? I am playing at Edgewood Tahoe...any helpful pointers would be great.

Thank you,
nagoh
One club is a good approximation.

And after the turn two clubs, cause your completely out of breath.

Dont forget the sunscreen.

Be sure and ask a local "Where do you put the moguls in the summer?"

edit: should have realized "back to no club" after the turn.
-thx tmfs...

Wouldn't it be the opposite? Back to a no club difference. But as far the elevation I've been skiing in Tahoe twice and have not notice any problems with breathing even at the highest peaks and coming from some of the lowest land in the country.

Whoa! whoops...

Note to self: do not post before coffee.

I walk both seasons (back country in winter), so the altitude change hits me pretty hard no matter what sport it is. The change in air from my ocean influenced home at ~100' to Tahoe in 3 hours kills my lungs.

It's more than 1 club sometimes.... It's about 10-12 percent, so on longer clubs that stay in the air longer, it's more different than shorter clubs.

At home I hit Lob wedge 90 yards, in Tahoe I hit it 100. At home my 5 iron is about 185, and at tahoe my 5 iron is about 205-210.
Hitting driver is so fun up there.

I'd agree with 1-1.5 clubs difference

It depends what time your playing it. In the morning it's about 5 to 8 % and afternoon it's about 10% to 12%. Probably closer to 10 this time of year.

Have fun up there, It's a sick track. 16, 17, and 18 are the prettiest  3 hole stretch in Nevada.

this is right on. i go to tahoe every weekend I can. 8-10% is a good gauge (ie-if you are at 200, play it 184 or so)

the range before hand will help as well, obviously. enjoy Edgewood, it is spectacular! hope the weather is good for you, it has been off and on, so dress in layers appropriately.

Its always fun when you already hit it fairly long then you go up there for the first time and on the first hole you hit the green of a 415 yard hole

please stop bragging that u drove a greeen at my home course with me there.. yes id say its about 10% difference or at least what people say.. The higher the ball goes the further it travels so driver does travel a little less then some people think if u dont hit the ball very high like i do..

Edgewood is a nice track but has LOTs of hype that makes it so special. Many of the courses in North Lake Tahoe are better in many people's opinions so if you have a chance try to get over to North Lake, its about a 50 minute drive.

I'd have to agree about 16,17,18 as pretty holes, very awesome... Also a little hint on the par 3 17th the wind might feel really strong but the wind doesnt blow it as much as it would seem.

i might have to sneak back up to dominate the club champ again
