Tiger still had 100,000 points starting the playoffs. From what I've gathered, if you DNP you are still in it. But if you miss the cut, you are out, right? So technically, Tiger could still finish in the top 10 if none of the front runners win?

I saw somewhere that he could finish around 13th.

And I suppose since the FedEx Cup is the PGA Tour's new retirement package, TW will be getting a pretty good finish and collecting the cash.

Greetings ....

From PGATOUR.COM, here are the Projected Fed Ex Cup Playoff Standings , a stat which is compiled even as tournament play is occuring (like right now).

As of 3:16 PM EDT August 24th, Tiger is projected to finished 16th in the standings. Of course, by the end of next week's Deutsche Bank, he could conceivably be out of the Top 30.

Meaning that even though TW is out for the year and not teeing it up at any FedEx Cup playoff, he will still get assigned points, fall down the standings a little each week, and at the end of it all win whatever money is assigned to that position. Being out for the year does not mean he is out for the FedExCup prize money.

Greetings ...

It can be considered "official" now. Tiger Woods will be outside of the Fed Ex Top 30, according to the latest projected Fed Ex Cup standings

Rest your kneecaps, young fella. 2009 is another year! Maybe 2010, if the healing-rehab process takes a longer time then hoped for.

I'm no FedEx cup expert (I think it is lame as hell) but I thought I had read Tiger withdrew and freed his spot. In any case, Tiger has earned his spot with excellent play prior to his injury.

Are you suggesting he didn't earn the spot and cash that goes with it?
