Three simple questions...
Which course in the US has the highest Slope Rating?
Which course in the US has the highest Course Rating?
Which course in the US has the highest combined Course and Slope Rating?
How about the rest of the world's golf courses? Do they even have ratings?
Thanks guys

I could be wrong but I believe Bethpage Black has the title of all 3. Somebody please correct me if this is false.

here is the info:
Pete Dye's
Ocean Course at Kiawah Island is rated as America's most difficult golf course by Golf Digest. The Ocean Course Measures 7,356 yards and has the highest combination of Slope Rating (155) and Course Rating (79.6) in America, according to the USGA.
Located in Bolton, Mass.,
The International (Pines) Course is a behmenoth playing to an unusual par-73. You'll need that extra stroke, or ten for that matter, considering this course measures 8,325 yards from the tips. The course has a rating of 80 and a slope of 154 from the Tiger Tees.
KooLau Golf Club on Oahu is the king of the forced carry and used to have a slope rating of 162, even though the maximum possible is 155. Currently the course has a slope rating of 152.

Ocean course at Kiawah has the title of combined slope and rating.
Slope maxes out at 155 (which the ocean course has), so there may be more than 1. Koolau on Oahu has a slope rating of 152, but i think it used to have a slope rating of 158 (which is odd as the max was 155 then, too).
not sure about course rating though, maybe the Pines at the International in Mass. Course rating 80 (yardage from tips, 8300).
this might be of interest.

I played The Ocean Course from the tips a couple of years ago. After my round, one of the assistants gave me a ride back to my hotel. I told him I'd played alot of golf courses but that had to be the longest 7,300 yards I'd ever seen. Into the wind, it was incredibly hard, and with the wind it was still long. He asked if I played the gold tees or the black tees. I told him I didn't look at color, just played the furthest back tees. His reply was that the course measured somewhere around 7,800 yards from there.
Made me pretty proud of my 91. I was 1 over on the holes with the wind and 18 over on the holes into the wind. I'm relatively long and was hitting driver then 3 wood and would still be 100 yards out on some par 4's.
Easily the toughest course I've ever played.

I played the ko olau and the slope used to be 163 before the high was 155 from what some of the course locals said. guys i played with (3) each lost 3 dozen balls each. I lost 18, 4 or 5 in the middle of the fairway. several in the first cut a few in the forced carries and a few in the jungle...

Played the Ocean Course all the way back about 4 years ago, shot -1 on the front nine, can't remember if that is 34 or 35, and did not break 50 on the back nine, due to the wind kicking up to about 25-30mph. That when windy, is the toughest test of golf in the world, IMO. I played it once and that was enough...

I think the rating went down because they filled in some bunkers to speed play up on the course.

Not sure about course rating/slope numbers but I played Oak Hill, East Course in Rochester, NY last year for the first time and that place is a BEAST.......but very fair(I see no reason to play a course that is un-fair, if you hit a good shot down the middle you shouldn't lose your ball, etc.)!! Not necessarily visually intimidating like the new-age type of course w/ OB or water but just long and tough. Like an old grizzly bear that has a nasty bite, this course just keeps coming after you hole after hole and doesn't let up until you walk off 18!! Like I said before, it's tough but it's fair and rewards you if you hit a quality shot. By far the best course I have ever played. Place is immaculate, greens are fantastic, and the layout is one of the best in the country. I am partial to the older style courses and designers like Ross, Travis, etc.
