Playing Pinehurst with my father and uncle. We've got a great picture of us standing next to the Payne Stewart statue behind 18.

I had a top-five experience this past november, playing Ko Olina in Hawai'i.

Others best moments:

-First time I chipped-in for birdie. It was from the light rough, about ten yards from the hole. Still have the ball.

-The first time I ever hit a flagstick. It was after about a year of playing, and it was on a par-3 hole at a course near Ft. Worth Texas.

Playing County Louth in Ireland with two of my best mates. Absolutely wicked links course!
In addition, it was a surprise trip from my wife. How great is that?
Didn't play too well, like +12 or so but it was a great battle against the elements.

Mine was the PGA MERCHANDISING SHOW.

I didn't go this year - but I've had tremendous fun! All the golf testing and demoing I can stand (threw my back out one year), all the new products, and golfing my brains out all around Orlando. Gosh I loved it - I should make this an annual pilgrimage!

2nd place - playing "Quinta da Marinha" near Lisbon Portugal, with some good friends that I know in Lisbon. It was one of the most wonderful experiences in my lifetime.

* Getting my first birdie in front of my father-in-law (who got me into the game). I think he was even more excited than I was.

* Getting my first birdie on a par4.

* Getting my first holed wedge shot over a swale (even if it was only for par).

Only been playing for a season so the list isn't that long wink.gif

I attended a Phoenix outing a couple of years ago that included:

Rounds at Estrella Mtn, Lookout Mtn, Troon Monument, Anthem CC,and The Rim Club (Payson)- One of the best courses you will never hear about., various dinners and lotsa drinks, and a tour of the Ping complex.
Outstanding trip.

My best experience was to chip in for birdie, drive a Par 4 and hitting a par3 tee shot 1/2 feet of the hole. I thought it could go in but...

Getting to play The Ridge at Castle Pines in a vendor tournament. Nice! I sure won't lay down that kind of money for greens fees normally. crazy.gif

As a student at PSU, I played Toftrees resort. Excellent condition, and it was both playable for the hacks (myself included) from the forward tees, and challenging for the good player in our group. He played from the tips, and attempted to walk on to the university team at one point. He could've made it from what I saw ok.gif I think at the time the course was rated 4 stars by Golf Digest, not sure if it's maintained that rating since. The highest quality golf course I have ever played (haven't had the chance to play the thoroughbred tracks the tour guys loop) and would recommend it to anyone who's travelling through or visiting the area.

The Hotel is great. My parents stayed at the resort one parent's weekend. Nothing but good things to say, although it was a bit pricey. If anyone's stayed at the Atherton Hotel in downtown State College, we're talking that kind of pricey.

Several memorable moments - Each of my 2 hole in ones, Coaching a H.S. State Champion, Breaking 70 for the first time (67) on a par 72.
