Can anyone help me out with some info on the courses in the area? Looking At Highland Creek, Skybrook, larkhaven. I am open to ideas but would like to keep it close to Concord. Thanks for the help. If anyone would like to join me I am going to play Saturday July 26 around 9-10, I will be playing as a single so a little company would be nice.

There's also Rocky River, which is located right beside Lowe's Motor Speedway. It's the best public course in Cabarrus County. Stay away from Green Oaks. It's a cow pasture. The others you listed are in Mecklenburg County. Of those, I like Skybrook the best. Highland Creek is overpriced for what you get in my opinion. You might also consider Birkdale in Huntersville if you are near that area.

Stay far far away from Skybrook. The greens are burnt out and the bunkers are in garbage condition...for the $ it is WAY over-priced right now, and has been for about a year now. Highland is crowded but in better condition and is a more-fun layout. Consider Birkdale Golf Club (not Royal Birkdale biggrin.gif ). It is an easy driver west of Hwy 73 in Huntersville and is just as crowded as Sky and Highland, but they keep the course in better playing condition than most public courses I have ever played.

My private course is about 20-30 minutes west of Concord, also just off Hwy 73 at Lake Norman, called Cowan's Ford CC. I can submit for a saturday tee time starting on Thursday if you are interested in joining me. It is less to play as a guest than Sky, Highland Creek, and Birkdale...but it is a private course with 100% better playing condition and faster rounds...usually 4:30 on the weekends. 4:20 is my longest round ever out there on a Saturday, but I do not play on Saturday mornings too often. Let me know if you are interested in playing with me.

I've played Cowans Ford and can attest that it is a great course. I played a tournament there a few years ago and I loved it. It was always in great shape!
