why do all the players wear the pink on their hat. i was wondering if it was because they like the look of it or if it is a requirement
bigwehttam
They are given to them by birkdale golf club to wear so they are easily identifiable as players (if they arent already!). They dont have to wear them on the hat, although most do.

so they need to wear it wherever they go then right?
bigwehttam
Mmmm on the course I'd presume so... although I doubt they'd get shouted at for not wearing it.

Many tournaments do this. I believe Mediate collects all the pins from majors.
While he was playing the US Open he wore em all on his hat.

I don't think they need to wear it, i've never seen Tiger wearing any. Then again, i don't think he has a lot of problems with marshals not identifying him.

Mediate collects the pins that you or I could buy in the merchandise tent. What a lot of the guys are wearing on their hats are their tournament badges. Most, if not all, events give the players a badge to access 'players only areas' of the facility.

i believe ive seen tiger wear the badges on his hat...normally by the swoosh.

chirs wood didn't have a hat on, but wore the pin in a rather cool place i thought, on the back neckline of his sweater.
