and probably a little straighter as well with less sidespin. Of course it will also make you a cheater.

I think the new issue of Golf Magazine ran an article that talks about this a little bit (oranger cover, "New X-Factor") cover story.
Vaseline was a tip for reducing sidespin and keeping an otherwise loose driver swing in play.
FYI -- the article was a tongue-in-cheek tips piece for taking your buddies money on golf bets.

As stated it is not legal to do in play although it will be fun to watch hit knuckle balls.
This will only help you hit farther if you struggle with too much spin, as if you already get little spin this will make you hit it even lower and therefore shorter.

No offense but Why???? Why would you even want to do this when it's already been posted enough times that it's illegal? Why not change your shaft or club head and golf the right way.

If my friends put vaseline on their drivers to get the cash out of my back pocket i would be very angry

. i would probably take my driver to them

It would be kind of obvious if someone uses vaseline on their driver.
First they probably would have a head cover, or it would just rub off everytime they put it away. Second, you would be easily able to see it since they did not have a head cover.
Third, Why the hell is this even a topic?? No offense but is someone actually thinking of doing this to "help" their game?? Go see a swing coach, or a Launch Monitor, heck hit a Range even!!!!

Well I know one thing, if you ever get sand in your vasoline it will make your balls spin.
