Are they the same thing with different logos on them? Back before I gave up playing golf in '00, I had a Titleist Player's glove and it was awesome.
Right now Ive got a Nike Elite Feel glove (also very nice), but I was at a local sporting goods store and they had a bunch of Footjoy gloves there that looked to be very well-made.
Im just curious as to whether or not Footjoy and Titleist gloves are the same.

The Titleist Players glove is thinner, and has smoother stitching. In that the seams of the glove are less noticable around the thumb and in the palm. The Footjoy Sta-Sof is a little thicker, and conversely has more noticable seams.

Easier to find the Sta-Sof, but I think the Players are worth the hunt.

No problem for me finding the Titleist Player's glove, theres at least 3 places around here that stock them.
I just noticed that the Footjoys are a little bit less expensive. I think that sporting goods store has the WeatherSof and Sofjoy. Im pretty sure they were $12-15, considerably cheaper than the $20+ that you would pay for a Titleist Player's glove.
If the Player's glove is better, Id definetly spring for it. Golf gloves usually last me at least a year, so its not as if Im going to sweat spending $5-$10 more...

A YEAR?!?!?!? shok.gif Mine last me around a month, and it's not from too muhc grip pressure either.

the top of the line footjoy glove is the stasof, and it's essentially the same price as the titleist player's glove.

Interesting. My gloves last me a year (which with our Wisconsin winters, the golf season only goes from April-November). I play 1 round a week and I hit balls for 30 minutes every day.
Ive actually never worn out a golf glove, I just replace them at the start of the golf season in April because after a summer of soaking up sweat and then being in storage for 4 months, they tend to get a little nasty.
If you are wearing out gloves that fast, you need to take a look at your grip. Most likely you are holding the club more in the palms of your hands instead of gripping it mostly with your fingers.
I dont think grip pressure has much to do with it. My workout regimine consists of lifting weights and part of that is an exercise that is designed to build up the strength of my hands and forearms. Plus I work in a factory, so suffice to say Im a fairly strong guy. If Im not tearing up gloves with all the hand and forearm strength I have, I dont think anyone else will either.
Everything Ive read and been told about wearing out golf gloves quickly points to an improper grip being the cause.

Titleist Players gloves do seem thinner and fit more like a second skin. They didn't last very long for me so I stopped getting them a long time ago. Footjoys is what I went to before giving in to bargain brands.

LOL. That's b/c you live in Wisconsin, where you're lucky to get 5 months of decent playing weather without wind gales!

"Unfortunately" for me, I live in South Carolina, where I get to play golf all year round. Thus, my gloves don't last as long as yours do. Yep, it really "sucks" for me LOL.

Actually, its more like 8 months. The season usually goes from April-November.
Even if you live in a place where you can play year round, you shouldnt be wearing out a glove every month. If you are, theres something wrong with your grip.

If you live in a warm area, the sweat that you get on the gloves effectively wears them out after a few weeks (particularly if you wear them while practicing). The leather becomes hard and loses all of it's grip/texture to the point they are worthless (aka worn out). So wearing giant holes in them is not the only way to wear out a grip.

I think the point everyone is trying to make to you, TITLEISTWI, is that they, including myself, do not like a slick glove. When they start getting alittle black....then they are done....they are slick... Just because the glove is not torn does not mean that it still does not need to be replaced. If you can or like to play with a glove that is black because of use then go for it.

I live in Wisconsin and I buy a new glove almost every week. I love the feeling of new gloves.

I could wear out a glove every round if you wanted to get technical. I love putting a brand new glove on because a certain size fits me perfect. After a round the glove streches a little bit and doesn't fit as well as it used to. I really don't see how anyone that htis range balls for 30 minutes a day can use one glove the entire 8 month playing season. Something is wrong with that IMHO.

If you have them in your area, get the USGlove brand. They make all of footjoy's gloves for them (w/ the exception of the weathersof) and are about 2/3 the price of the FJ.

I live in South Fl and ruined a glove just killing mosquitos with it today.............there was so much blood spots on it (my own, nasty little bastars) that I just threw it away.

I understand where you're coming from on that. I also understand that those of you who live in southern states likely deal with a lot more heat and humidity than we do here in Wisconsin and that also accelerates the aging/slickening process.

To me,I have noticed that the leather on the titleist stays softish compared to the footjoy which goes all hard and kind of slippy..??
