Done.
I noticed the field hasn't been changed since the US Open. There are a couple of Asians that I would've picked one of, just for regional pride

Shhh...if they don't sign up maybe I have a chance.
I take that back if only 62 people enter then if I don't win it looks really bad so sign up everyone.

This my first time entering something like this on WRX, so I went in and picked my golfers....now what?? Do I need to send them in or what?? Or am I automatically entered now?? It's probably obvious

but maybe I missed something??
I can see the sarcastic reply's already - 'get a clue buddy', 'simply follow directions'.

I'm having the same problem. I'd guess there's something wrong or else it still wouldn't be stuck at 62 entries.

I have a question: How come we get $100,000,000 to pick with when we only get 5 picks and the most expensive guys are like only $3,000,000???
BTW, how do my picks look?: Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard, Anthony Kim, Justin Rose, and Sergio Garcia.

You get a 15% discount because you picked on the first day of the tournament European time. You will get the same discount amount if you pick after tomorrow's round.

That is unbelievable. I'm penalized for picking 12 hours before anyone tees off? Whoever made those rules was way off. I play all different kinds of fantasy formats and sports and I've never seen one that doesn't lock before the first person tees off/ first pitch is throw/ kick off/ etc.

Is there something wrong with the countdown clock? 15% penalty for picking before midnight?????
I guess I should have waited until most of the way through tomorrow's round and had the same penalty.

I just made my picks and couldn't agree more that I think the selection rules need tweaking. How can you be penalized by making picks prior to the first player who gets the ball in the air? The countdown should be for the first tee time. If there is a way to edit this 15 percent penalty for making picks the day of prior to teeing off needs to be changed and would be great if that is possible. If not that is a terrible rule in my opinion and should be changed for the PGA. Thanks good night and good luck to everyone including those who have already incurred a penalty.
Gxgolfer
Jul 16 2008, 11:30 PM
The rule has been in place for over a year and is stated as Midnight of the tournament time zone. The clock is off but, the rules and tournament contest have been the same since the beginning of the year. Tee times cannot be done.
If people want to pass on The Open, we can certainly carry things over to the PGA and cancel this one.

It means no salary cap.

Jul 17 2008, 12:42 AM
Gxgolfer, like others here, I do not understand why it would be a penalization - anything picked before the tournament, regardless of whether it was a
day or a
minute. I also don't feel like I have a right to complain because, God bless you, you are doing this anyway. Don't cancel it (I think I just picked the top 5)! I just think up until the first tee shot would be a little more...proper.
Nevertheless, I really believe a lower ranked Euro lad will win this week. BTW, I made my picks a minute or two before this post. Hope they get through. That is all you have to do, correct...just make the picks? Any other buttons for conformation purposes on the page you make your picks?
Can't wait. The OPEN is tomorrow...

Another great contest. I love these, since it forces me to watch the whole major instead of just the last two days. Thanks GolfWRX.
And.... for the first time in my life.... I can honestly say I would rather take fourth than win, lol. I'd love to add that putter to my slowly growing collection.
Goodluck everyone.

Currently at #235
My picks:
Stuart Appleby
Ernie Els
Jim Furyk
Retief Goosen
Sergio Garcia
I don't know how to change the order though other than the manner in which you add them. I don't really want to delete everyone and do it over. Does it matter?

Can someone please tell me whether or not my picks have been listed and that I am in the contest?
EDIT:
I see that I am 135 on the list.
All my picks seem to be right there in the mix.
EDIT:
My original picks were:
T1 McDowell
T7 Furyk
T15 Garcia
T15 Jimenez
T38 Rose
Being that (it appears) I already took a 15% hit, I think I may drop J-Rose for Scott and let the rest of my boys ride. I like my picks...

Gxgolfer,
If I swap Rose for Scott right now, will I incur further penalty points? Otherwise, I will just let Rose play on because Scott may fade and Rose is certainly still right there. If you do not post back by later tonight I guess I will not make anymore changes.

just curious... if i changed a golfer before the tournament started, should the new player be deducted 15%? i ask because last night i decided to replace tim clark with anthony kim. it said there was still 2 hours or so to submit picks, but when i changed players, it showed a deduction.
thanks,

First off let me say, I love these fantasy pick em events. And I will always play for fun and the prizes are an added bonus. But that being said, I have one final qualm with the tournament setup. At the time of my picking, I wanted to take Robert Allenby, but much to my dismay he wasn't available. I thought, did he not qualify? So fast forward to today, when I notice his name climbing the leaderboard. One question, whats up with that?

I'm going to let my boys ride it out. You know how the saying goes: you can't win it on the first day but you can lose it. Scott's putting looks shoddy, and Rose just got the shaft going out in the morning yesterday. I think the weather tomorrow (and the remainder of the tourney) will be the decider in this.

Please don't cancel this contest!! I think (a) a lot of people are getting bent-out-of-shape about something that's supposed to be for
FUN and (b) people have to remember this tounament is going on while a lot of us are sleeping.
Not doing this cause I'm "winning" our anything...heck, I've had to shoot some of my horses already:
Original:
Els - put out to pasture after first round for Overton

(35% cut)
Furyk
Garcia - can make any putter he uses look bad!
Jimenez - shot on the track after 2nd round; saddled up Villegas (35% cut)
McDowell
Just relax...have fun with this...and if you win, you win. If you don't, try the PGA Championship. If we don't quit @$&*($!#, there won't be a next time.

Dito the comments from Cuda and folks read the rules before playing.
Picks must be made prior to midnight in the tourney time zone. If the count down clock malfunctions, so what, it doesn't change the actual time of midnight at the Open. Just as if your alarm clock malfunctions and your late for work, who do you blame? The head poobahs on this site have provided wonderful contests for all on board over the years, so lets be thankful.
