I know Kirk has been injured, however, he has never really played all that many events in any season. I think he places family life first. He always seems to play WELL whenever he does choose to play.

How high would his ranking be if he played more often? I think he would do quite well for himself....even with the bucket hat!

I know Kirk a little bit...we have always gone to dinner when he plays in Houston, which hasn't been all that much in recent years, and I email him from time to time. I think the thing is that his kids are all still fairly young, so I think he dosen't want to be away from them at this point in their lives. He's one of those guys that many average golfers don't know much about, but if you look at his record he has had some very good years out there, making it into the Tour Championship several times. He did like Champions quite a bit when he played in the last one held there. I'm a little surprised, but 7 under isn't bad for your first tournament of the year. elbow surgery is what has kept him out of action this year, and I believe he had shoulder surgery last year, so it will be interesting to see how he does the rest of this year.
