God daemons were with this Brit today. Such a perfect Sunday round in tuff conditions. He birdied from the bunker in the 18th! A great swing worth studying, but can’t find any youtube video.

I watched on Sunday and he played very well. He played against a pretty tough field with good players like Rose, Poulter. Monty, Sergio and the tall Swede (can never remember his name). I wonder if Fisher will play in the U.S. in the future? The weather was rainy and windy.

On one of the closing holes I thought I heard the announcer say that Ross drive went 440 yards because the strong wind was at his back.

Went on Saturday, windiest day spectating I can remember, monster course as well 7300 pretty hilly.
Saw Michael Lorenzo-Vera have an epic fit after doubling 14, kicked his bag from the caddie and slammed his driver into it 3 times. Seemed to put his partner Karlsson off his next shot.

The wind felt stronger on Sunday, with some quite heavy rain at times. Very impressive to get under par like he did on Sunday - one of only 5 players to break 70.

I was lucky enough to play 18 with Ross about 3 years back around Wentworth; purely by chance when I played as a guest of a member.

In a nutshell, I played really solidly that day and was outclassed by 4 or 5 strokes I think by Fisher who sauntered round in 66 or so whilst making it look ridiculously simple. I also got a lesson in how to be outdriven by 30-40 yards on every hole. I was struck by what a nice lad he was and what a tremendous ballstriker he was. I've followed his career with some interest since then and have been waiting for him to break through with a big win. For a lad from relatively humble beginnings he's done fantastically well and it's nice to see someone with such an abundance of raw talent whilst still remaining grounded and humble with a distinct lack of ego or any airs and graces about him.

Hopefully he'll use this weeks' performance as a springboard for more success and go on to become one of Britain's solid players for the future.

He seems like a nice chap. He was overcome with almost shock after his tremendous holing out bunker shot on the last hole. The full effect of winning seemed to dawn on him and he was really happy.

I watched him a few months ago lose in a playoff with Jimenez. Jimenez is a very good player when he is hot. Ross looks like he improved since then. He can hit it far and played flawlessly in awful conditions.

I hope we will see Ross at the British Open. Did his win yesterday qualify him to play in the Masters? Hopefully he will come to America to play a few tourneys while Poulter, Daly and Madonna can say in Europe and the UK (just kidding). rolleyes.gif Nice to see a fellow from a more more modest background breakthrough.
