Only thing is they still don't sell many clubs. Their clubs have gotten better but many players are still attaching Nike with poor quality or young poser. It'll be a few more years before they break those stigmas.
There? Where?
The stuff Nike brings to retail is awful. Just because they have a solid tour staff doesn't make their products any better.

As for their retail offerings being awful, I'd have to disagree. Their drivers and fairway woods have been really good the last couple of years. Their blades seem to have a pretty good following. Most of their game improvement irons haven't done so well (CCI Cast, Ignite) recently but the pro combos were really good. I personally don't play any of their equipment, but wouldn't hesitate to put some Nike gear into play.

I'm a recent Nike convert and I have to disagree too. With the clubs I chose, the game got easier for me. Still don't like their putters and wedges, but you can't argue the results. There have been, what, 29 tournaments? How much Nike equipment was used in them? Probably a dozen wins. True tour staffers still have to be talented, and the stuff still needs to fit, just like for us mere mortals.

Someone who buys a SuperSumo 5000 watt BS club that has a "Diamana" shaft and actually is naive enough to believe it is what Tiger is using. Same guy who thinks Pro Wrestling is real.
Now, if you want to take the time to install a real diamana, in a Nike head that has been checked out for its true loft and lie, then maybe I will give that person some credit for not being a tool.

Maybe they know its not a real Diamana, or don't have/want to pay to install a real one? Just because someone has the OEM shaft doesn't mean they are a 'poser'

Can't say I have seen a lot (any) Nike equipment in play around here. I have used their irons in the past (2005) and I didn't like them. They were better than me and I couldn't hit them to save my life. While Nike does well on tour - they have their equipment in the hands of very good players. Consider that each player's clubs are bespoke to them, I don't put much stock in what wins on tour being the "must have" for me. I am upgrading my set from a POS Acuity combo package from Dicks. The addition of a Callaway driver added about 100 yards onto that club. Try as I might, I never could get the Acuity driver much longer than 140 yards. Today - hitting my BB 460 for the first time ever - I had my drives between 225 and 265 all day. Equipment does matter but I am not about to equate what wins on tour with what I need to be using. JME

being someone who sells Nike clubs on a regular basis I have to disagree. The majority of the clubs they have brought to market are for mid to high handicap golfers (Ignite and Slingshot irons etc.). They are great clubs for the golfer for which they are designed. Its actually impressive how fast they have improved their clubs in such a short amount of time. They came out with their clubs in 2001 and continue to grow every year. Their drivers and fairways perform as well as anything for the right golfer.
After talking with the local Nike rep. at the beginning of the year, expect to see some more better player friendly iron sets next year.

while i think its great that nike got another win, it wasn't there equipment that got the win. anthony kim is one of the few tour players in which i followed in the college ranks (i'm an OU alum, and the fact that we had a stud golfer was a bit suprising. usually they are up the road in stillwater). people said kim would be hot stuff - and nike new this too and signed him. kim is winning right now because he has his head in it, matching his abilities and is devoted to his game. tiger wins because he is devoted to his game.
the only thing nike has done is be very selective in who it signs to its staff. this isn't to take anything away from nike's equipment - obviously from my signature i support them - but its still the player winning.
Nike are very good at the wood department of things, OK with the irons but they're never going to take on the likes of Mizuno with irons. The thing for me is their wedges and putters, they might be a good product but you never ever hear anybody talking about them like you hear about SM wedges, X wedges, SC putters or Odyssey putters. Strange that they would fall down on that side of things TBH

I personally am not a fan of anything I have seen from Nike. Not that I see that much or see it that often. None of the thirty or so guys I play with play Nike.
We had a Marine a few weeks back that had a full set join us for a day.
Here is my question considering Nike's place in the pecking order (low low low) as far as sales go. How long can they make enough money to pay Tiger Kim Wie and others all this money.
They will only let the shoe business cover it for so long.
If things do not change in the next three to five I doubt Nike will even be around.

poser...wannabe...tool
come on guys...Nike makes good clubs!!! And by now havn't you all realized that the clubs don't make the golfer, the golfer makes the clubs!!! Geez...all this mindless banter about which brand is better...and if you play this you're just a wannabe...
Did you ever notice that golfers who play nike clubs rarely rip another manufacturer? They are just content to play what they like...usually knowing they could own you any day of the week!!!

I'm not a big fan of Nike, but I must say that I do like the new SQ 5900 driver. The non-square one. I also tried out the Nike OneBlack ball and liked it, but I'm not switching it to my gamer.
They're growing bigger and bigger every year it seems.
