OK let’s kick off our first of many Fundraisers here at Golfwrx.com

Golfwrx.com has decided to kick it up a notch and begin a process to give back a little to the game we love so much. The First Tee organization will be the benefactor of our fundraisers. This is our first of many fundraisers and will be adjusting the process as we go. Our goal is to maximize the contributions and make it fun at the same time. Golfwrx.com will not charge anything to administrate. We will pass 100% (all) of the contributions to “The First Tee”.

Here is the deal. Golfwrx.com will begin a fundraiser here in this thread. We will raffle off products to members that donated. We will have this thread in “general golf” open and we will track all the contributions from each member so we all know who and how much we have raised. You give dollars. Each dollar is a lottery ticket. If you give 10 dollars then you will have 10 chances to win a prize.

1st Ticket drawn will get a Bettinardi XM 360 Putter. A $950 value!

2. How will we track?
We will track all contributions sent in and post them in this thread as we receive them. Member name (log in ID), and how much they gave.

3. How will we distribute the money to The First Tee?
At the end of the Fundraiser we will add up all the money donated and make a contribution to "The First Tee." Golfwrx.com will give 100% “all” of the money to The First Tee and ask them to provide a letter or poof to show that we did indeed give the funds to The First Tee.

4. Who will win the prize?
We will draw names from a hat and the name we pick will win the prize. For every dollar given you will receive 1 ticket with your name on it. They will be thrown into a hat and drawn from. On February 24th March 1st at 9:00 pm est time we will have a drawing to determine the winner(s). This could happen live in the Chat.

Does anyone have a feel good story they like to share about "First Tee"?

What a great thread. 2005 was my first year volunteering for the First Tee and I completely enjoyed every minute with the kids. Can't wait for 2006 to get started...

I also volunteered with The First Tee for two years in high school. The First Tee teaches great core values to kids. I was lucky enough to attend The First Tee Academy at Kansas State in 2002. It was a great experience and I still keep in touch with some of those friends today.

That is great you both took the time. Those kids might never forget those times.

Does giving locally count? My golf company has already donated over $1100 in golf clubs to the First Tee Program and are in the process of giving at least that much in the coming month or so.

I have donated to the First Tee Program at Redstone Golf here in Houston. It is a great organization and very worhty cause.. Great folks at the Redstone Chapter..

im part of the first tee miami and well we had tiger a while back wow did I learn alot and get a nice set of auto pro combos

This is an awesome charity and I am so proud to be a part of it.

I invited a few kids from the first tee program to play at my home course. I met them through a buddy of mine who is the head pro at an inner city course in Chicago. They were great kids. It was clear by their actions not only their words that the program has made an impact on them. I met their parents who are very involved in keeping their kids active. If there are parents that keep their kids busy in the right programs and find them a hobby they can excel in, these kids have a better chance of being productive in this world. Your contributions to this organization really does make a difference. I was stunned at how well these kids behave. Once I met their parents and understood the kids love for the game which was generated by exposing them to the game through the First tee program, my eyes were opened to the impact this program is making in this world. Please give with your heart, you will change someone's life. Can you imagine not growing up with direction from your parents or any opportunities like the First Tee. A lot of us here are very well off and we don't realize it. If you haven't given to a charity for a while and you are looking to give, this is a very worthy cause.

Yes. To the site. As we said we will show all the donations here to prove the tally is correct and then also show proof from "The First Tee" that we actually donated it. We called The First Tee, and they ensured us they could provide proof that the donations actually were transfered to them and show how much. WE will have that PDF file or something posted here on the site.
