I was bowling with a guy the other day who I didn't know played golf and we were talking about a common acquaintance who I called "a cheater."
Anyway, I was explaining one of his plays from OB where he didn't penalize himself the distance (or at least an additional stroke, he just took the one penalty stroke)...
Anyway, this guy said that it says that in the back of the "rules of golf" where as if you have a certain handicap (say 20 or more) that if you hit OB, you can just take the one stroke penalty and hit from OB or take your drop from where your ball went out.
I could not find this in the back of my copy of the "Rules of Golf" but maybe there is something I don't know about.
Is this guy wrong (BTW, he is like a wrong stew...he has been wrong about sooo many things lately!!!)?

Wow, this guy is coming up with all kinds of strange rules ideas for you. Better buy a rule book and spend a little time here:

You mean I've not been taking advantage of special "high" handicap rules???? No wonder my HC is not dropping like some of the other folks I golf with-I've got to get that special rulebook!!!

I like the rule that allows you to place your ball on the green if you get it within 30yards of the hole. Kind of like "ball in hand" in pool.
I find this really helps w/ pace of play.

The only handicap specific rules I know of are equitable stroke control. Other than that I would say its a load.
