Hello,

I am looking for the best camera for course pics (tourney equipment maybe) and swing video.

My wife always has 'the camera' and everytime I go golfing somewhere new I wish I woulda had my own, so I am going to get one.

Just looking for opinions from wrx's...

by the way I really know zilch on camera terms, but I could learn.

Preferences would be, but not really an issue are: not 2 bulky, good tech that will last longer than 6mon, and lots o' frames for video analysis of a swing.

Appreciate any help!

an incredible 60fps still pictures (swing) and full HD video

six megapixel camera with 12x zoom and some very impressive burst shooting capabilities. Capturing up to 60 frames per second at full resolution and a staggering 1200 fps if you drop the image size to 336 x 96, this innovative camera will also shoot 1920 x 1080 Full HD movies at 60fps. Helping to ensure the moment isn't missed is a buffer system which continually updates then saves the contents to card when the shutter is released. Illumination is taken care of by a conventional strobe which works at up to 7 fps and a cellphone-style LED for 10-60 fps. The EX-F1 will be available from March 2008 priced at $999.99.

The golf channel just had that camera on the other day in their Champions Tour show. Tom Kite's swing teacher uses that exact camera to film his swing. Looked great on TV and could pause at any point in his swing with great resolution and focus. Perfect camera for the golf swing and a good price.

I've got the F1 and it's quality. Like you I had no real idea about photography but absolutely love this camera and it's so easy to use. I posted some swin vids on here a while ago so pm me if you want any more info or just look for my posts and you'll see them. Everyone wants you to takes pics of them jumping in the air or doing something in slow motion! I don't think the novelty will ever wear off wink.gif

That's the camera I thought of when I saw this thread. Looked nice. BTW, that was Kite's caddie, not his instructor.
