Hickory Valley's Presidential course is no joke, tiny fairways, fast greens and requires good shot placement. Ambassador is a good beginners track.
I don't know what you guys are talking about with
Raven's Claw, course is long and tough and also requires good shaping skills with needed shot placement ability.
Turtle Creek is nice and offers a challenging European links style front 9 and a tough American style back 9. Always a good time.
Bella Vista poses lots of problems because of it's elevation changes from tee to green on every hole and you will not find a flat lie anywhere other than the tee box.
up the 422 coridor, those 4 are the best courses in the area I don't agree with the prices some of them stiff you for but, if you want to play you must pay.
I agree,
PICKERING VALLEY needs to be bulldozed. Hole 17 is an absoulute mess and they haven't a clue as to cut a fairway to seperate it from the rough.
Skippack is a hidden gem but hole 13 makes the course undesirable.
Limerick - Absolute joke - holes 10, 11, 12, are outright insults to golf course design!!
Spring Hollow - The next Valley Forge Golf Course!!! - Bulldozed and Sold for upscale shopping and housing.
Linfield National - Firing Range - newly desinged 16th and 17th holes are putrid.
JeffersonVille - Best course in Norristown/Jeffersoneville area.
Ft.Washington at Shannondell - 10 doglegs not a bad spend.
Westover - Kinf of Boring but good for the price, at times this course can be dry as a bone.
Broad Run (Tattersall) - Whew boy, is this course magnificent!!!! Absolutly love to play here!. Stunning views and blast with the GPS equipped golf carts!!!
Glen Mills - Untouchable, this is the best course in the area and I am talking
Ace Club, Merion, Aronimink, Gulph Mills, good!!
There are an abundance of courses in the area but the thing is most of them are private.
Here is a good list of Public course per township from Golf Guide Web.com
