I just joined a country club for the first time and have a question on tipping. How much do you guys usually tip the locker room attendant for cleaning up your shoes? I was thinking $10 for each pair. Is this too high, too low, about right?

I always gave our locker room attendant $5 per pair. I also tipped him $20 to set up a guest locker, and gave him $50 for Christmas. He always took really good care of me (and my shoes) so I figured it must have been fair.

Just FYI word gets around quick about new guys and how much they tip. If you tip well you'll be taken care of pretty well.

I give our guy $20 for one pair and if I give him 3 or 4 pair at once, he get's $10 per pair.

Agreed-
Was a caddy for ten years in my younger days so I certainly knew and appreciated making a living in that capacity. I feel as if I tip well and in return have always been taken care of at my club. I rather enjoy it and if I can make their day a little better, why not? After all, I'm playing golf, not working!

I usually go $5 per pair, along with a cash gift at Christmas.
