I have no idea why I read so many times how cool this headcovers are??? I'm sorry but i really dont see it, a headcovert tat looks like an old soccer sock with a pompon is not cool at all.
Am I alone on this one?? everybody else seems to love this things.

I take it you dont like Jan Craigs either then ??
RT look fine, except for the stars and the word rocket tour itself. Much prefer my JC's.

They're retro cool....I also think they're ugly, but even worse....what protection do they really provide?

As you get older, you realize the attraction to "retro." Pom Poms were huge in the '70s when I was a kid and so the RTs provide a dose of nostalgia for me.

Some people like the traditional or retro look.
I prefer the old Ping covers myself, but I can see why people like their Roket Tours/Jan Craigs.

Ditto the old ping fairway wood covers w/ the socks...damn near impossible to find now though. Do you know where to get some Mat?

I dig the "retro" craze but didn't care for them back when I was a youth and don't care for them now. I do agree there isn't much protection with those things.

I've only got a couple of be-socked ones in the dozen that I've stashed away over the years.
Most of mine are the old ones with no shaft protection.
They're prety rare these days, aside from the occasional set gathering dust in pro shops. The best place to find them is eBay.

I love the rocket tours. That being said, I have an order in for a set of jan craigs. I personally like the fact that they disguise what's under them. You aren't showing off a brand new driver to the world to get stolen. i really think the sock look is classy and understated. I would jump all over an argyle version if they were offered (they may be, haven't looked in a while)....

I personally have a couple and like them very much. I get compliments on them frequently and I like the look of a uniform set of headcovers as opposed to 7 different brand names screaming from my bag.
They aren't for everyone...just an option that's out there. If you don't "get it", then obviously they aren't for you.

Kinda the same reason that the Titleist "Cat in the Hat" head cover was so popular. I still have one waiting fo the day that it goes on e-bay for a couple hundred bucks.

Rocket tour makes some pretty cool stuff. The new tassels and victory stripes are now for sale on their website. You have to look around a little to find them, they arent on the front page but they are in the "buy now" part of the site. Got my tassels yesterday and cant wait to see the looks at the track tomorrow. Ordinary manufatcturers headcovers are ugly and advertise what you have to a thief. I tried to attach some pics

Is it JUST the nostalgia aspect of these that are appealing to people?

What are you guys a bunch of communists? They look better than the oem covers and unlike every barrel headcover the rocket tours keep the shaft from rubbing on the bag and thus protecting the club.

I noticed the last time I played that ALL the communists were sporting OEM headcovers. That's SO funny. Nice pickup.
Seriously, pom poms? This is the weirdest, retro, cheerleader-type fad I've ever seen.

The communist comment was a joke & usually jokes are not meant to be taken literally. I'm just a fan of knit headcovers made by elderly women in the USA. If you don't like them, don't buy them.

The OEM headcover that came on my FT5 was a piece of crap. I started looking around and found the rocket tours. I love them, now its an addiction. They do provide good protection and make my bag look different.

If the pom pom thing is a fad, it's a long-lasting one.
Google 'Nicklaus Watson Turnberry 1977' and see what it throws up picture-wise.

I like the skinny stick version for my hybrid but like others have stated my favorite fairway wood headcover is the old furry ping ones. I wish they would make them new so I wouldn't have to always search ebay for them to replace them when they get wear out.
