Im trying to plan a honeymoon in September. She needs a pool and good food....I need golf and good food. Where should I go? So far it seems that Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco are good options. Anyone have any recommendations? Resort recommendations would also be welcome. Still on the fence about "all-inclusive" vs a la carte....

Thanks!

I stayed at the Feista Americana in Cabo. It was a great hotel, food was good, service was fanatastic! The only draw back was you couldn't really swim in the ocean because of the rocks. To make up for that they had like 5 pools. The main pool was great.

Golf, well depending on if your future wife is cool with you playing Cabo Del Sol is right there! The Ocean Course (Nicklaus) and the Desert Course I liked them both. You get "free Tacos" at the turn on the Ocean but the greens fee is around $300 I think? There are some other courses close by Pamilla or something like that and my buddy was just there and May and said the resort looked amazing too!

Congrats! Have a fun on the Honeymoon!

We loved Acapulco on our honeymoon just not the golf I played there.

I played Mayan Resorts Acapulco Golf Course. 18 holes, par 72, 6156 yards very short course. You have to use a caddy (which your riding in a cart and he drives). Their caddies are anyone and everyone off the street that wants to make some money. First use of caddy was horrible experience thank god I wasn't using my own clubs. He couldn't tell yardages, barely knew which way the holes went, used dirty dry towel to "clean" dirty rental clubs, and I didn't dare ask how putt broke. Pretty much worthless.. I asked him few times (in Spanish and English) on first holes what yardage was since there were only a few yardage markers... he just shrugged his shoulders. I got his dirty rag and dipped in one of the ponds there and told him to sit his a** in the cart and just drive. Finished up and caddy master asked how round was I just laughed and said it was ok except for my worthless driver. Caddymaster had few choice words for him and he got sent home... and he didn't get anything extra from me...

Acapulco is very beautiful and we want to go back in few years when our daughter is a little older.

Cliff divers are something everyone tells you to go see....

I believe The Fairmont Pierre Marques is a pretty nice resort. I did not stay there, but did pass it on our way from the airport to the city. According to this there are 36 holes there:

You might also consider staying at one of the all inclusive Cancun resorts-we've stayed at the Adventura Spa palace in one of the presidential suites-everything included (food, drinks, entertainment and golf)-played at both Playacar and Moon Palace. I understand that the resort(s) and course are fully recovered from Wilma and the second 18 at Moon Palace is either open or soon to open.

East coast is "nicer" ocean and such (green water/white sand) but a bit spendier and more humid.
West coast has some great golf. I believe Puerto Vallerta is the golf capital of Mexico with some fantastic courses.

If you head that way and can get to the Four Season's in Punta Mita (very secluded, very nice), you won't be dissappointed in the resort nor the golf course (Nickalus design).

Although there are many other fantastic options in Mexico as well....

To add: Nothing wrong with a bit of golf on the honeymoon....you go play golf, she goes to the spa. Everybody is happy.

The ocean course at Cabo Del Sol is beautiful. Really nice course. I played in August (HOT) for around $150.
