i was flipping through the guide on tv for today and i saw that espn began coverage at 11:00 am eastern, but on usopen website it says 1:00pm eastern, is this 11:00 am crap just "pregame" or is the usopen site incorrect.

thanks for any info.
littlepingman
Choi came out the gates firing. He certainly has the game to win a US Open with his accuracy. If the greens are holding well he will be a definite contender.
SJFP
Tiger just played to the fairway from the rough on the first. So all comments made about the rough being easy are a lot of BS, sorry ...
airbuzz
PM playing without a driver first round. What 11.5° 3w is Mickelson hitting off the tee? FT?

No idea, but you can start watching on usopen.com there is a live stream 2 hours before the simulcast. I'm watching it now. It's limited to US viewers though. So use something like hotspot shield if you're outside the US, like me smile.gif

Tiger +2 after 1, PM even
SemperFi91
Looked like Adam was using the new Titileist 909 with the V2 shaft.

And yes, the deep rough looked pretty tough to get out of on the first.
MatthewT
how do you use that hot spot shield? I live in Canada
muxi87
man, no huge Tiger fan, no Tiger hater either, but that 1st hole was SHOCKING!!!

I really expect him to win, and I'm even leaning towards him winning by 5 or more! He definitely is starting behind the 8 ball!
Bones01gt
Philly boy is playing smart...that rough is NASTY!!! You better hit fairways or first cut if you want to hit greens. I give Tiger 4 holes before he turns it on. What a group!!!!!!
airbuzz
Announcers said Sean O'hair WD because he tore a chest muscle practicing in the rough.
chippen
You can't blame AS's broken finger for not being -2 after 3.
alucard655
Nice bunker shot on 4 Tiger
lewis17web
Karl Ravich is horrible. This early coverage is painful.

I use a MacbookPro, so i don't know how to use it on Windows.
Here, it's just install and run. It will open a browser and connect. Wait a minute until it says it's ready and you can surf where you want. It might be slower because you are connecting through a proxy, so your own connection speed doesn't matter (if it's higher of course). It will also place a banner at the top of your browser window. It's just empty white here thanks to AdBlock.

Can I quote myself? 4 holes, now he rolls!!!
AcesAZ
Tigers putting looks brutal so far. He needs to turn it around.

Uh oh. Tiger is limping.

yeah, i've been noticing that since the first hole...he doesn't quite look right out there (walking wise)
cj3wood
wasn't someone asking about Stricker earlier? Looks like he's 4 under thru 6 hehe.....
ram22592
I'm watching this to see some GOLF! I'm tired of these stupid announcers and their special stories every 2 minutes.

Is Tigers career over? There is a chance that his knee could be effed up and it is never the same!

Technically speaking, he's in a 'slump'.
Titleist1455
Is Phil really playing WITHOUT a driver in his bag???

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh

Correct, no driver for Phil today.
markheardjr
I just love the Pimp Bishop Ho himself, Phil. No driver on a course that has 2 of the top 3 longest par 4's in U.S. Open history!!! In all fairness, cut the corner on the 6th hole and you can hit mid iron in.
MS1
Is there any way to watch this online? I'm at work....
Leaderboards are like watching the grass grow. Any advice?

This is realllllly bad coverage. They are not even showing tiger's shots live at times. I have not seen any other shots than Tigers group either
midasmulligan2000
Wow ... PM already +3 ... he's looking really uncomfortable out there for some reason.
xdhammerbx
great tiger like shot on 8 for tiger

I am afraid Tiger should have waited a bit longer before coming back. I think he may have a permanent bum knee now.

How is Adam doing with his broken finger?

Is Philly Boy playing a 3W instead of a driver? Is he bombing the 3 W?
mat562
The UK coverage has just started, and I'm watching a bit before going to work...

I've managed to watch about four shots from the Woods/Mickelson group before becoming annoyed with the idiot brigade. 'Get in the hole!' after a Woods tee shot on a par 4 that found the left rough... and some idiot squawking like he'd got his toe caught in a mousetrap after Woods stiffed one on #4...

Brilliant stuff. 'Mute' control handy when I watch the recording of it tomorrow then.

Tiger looks like he's getting in tune after the layoff (doubled the first, but has just sunk his second bird, so he's back to even).

Adam's finger doesn't appear to be affecting him at all.

Phil playing a 3W, but looking out of sorts.

I am watching on ESPN.com from work. Has anyone noticed Tiger is not picking his tees up after he hits??

Maybe the knee is not as good as he says.

Still playing awsome though.

I did notice that. He looked stiff on the first couple of holes, but seems to have loosened up. Not sure why he's not picking up tees ... he seems to have no trouble hunkering down to read putts.
mojo33543
Thomas Levet looking good, def as the game for US Open straight of the tee and a lot of green in regulations. Allez Tomate

The new coverage with Berman and Maltbie is not nearly as bad as the US Open Extra from 8-10 am (pacific time). Some entertaining action once all the players are being shown. Roger Maltbie was suspecting that Phil has the 3W and 5 wedges because Mr. Pelz convincned him that he needs the 64* in the thick rough. IMO I feel he is putting himself in a difficult position without a driver. And Mark Calcavechia just withdrew after 9 on his 48th birthday.

I agree - suprisingly bad choice on the driver. Bet he has it in his bag tomorrow.

tiger's back in red figures after the double bogey on the first...
midasmulligan2000
And Tiger's starting to look like he's in tune. Three straight birds, and he's just hit the fairway perfectly again ...

My guess is he does not want to put to much stress on the knee. I am not that old but teeing up, picking up the tee and getting the ball out of the cup put some strain on the knees.

Is there a rule that you have to pick up the tee in professional golf?

If TW is back to even then he is doing well. What is with Phil? black eye.gif
Titleist1455
i predict Tiger not to play until the British Open after this week...there's no way that he's NOT in a little bit of pain right now.

playing pretty well though (after the double)
golferallan
Tiger's being Tiger. He's hitting shots close and starting to make some of the putts from putt-making distance. I can't pinpoint where Phil is going wrong.

LOL! One of the nice things about watching European tour golf on Sat & Sun morning in USA is the "get in the hole" morons appear to only be an American phenomena.

They banned people in the galleries from smoking at this tourney for the first time while the players can smoke. I wish they would ban the morons who yell "go in the hole."

Were the people in Arnie's Army back in the old days stupid morons who yelled? I don't think so.
muxi87
yeah, I expect to see Philly Mick carrying a driver tomorrow. He and this bent strong 3wood or whatever that thing is aren't getting along very well... black eye.gif
SemperFi91
Just saw that Phil has the Diamana Whiteboard in his 3 wood when he teed off on 12.
golferallan
anyone see phil hit hybrid on 12 from the thick stuff and advance it oh let's say 3 yards. Then was shaking his wrist in pain. Then hit it again this time onto the green. Tiger is also struggling on the very difficult 12th hole.
GOLF FTW
that rough seems kinda thick.. thats me though hahaha

mediate is on fire right now!
SemperFi91
Sheehan on 15 - OUCH!
