I was reading the article in this months Golf Digest about Rory Mcilroy and it got me thinking about where the "next tigers" have been. Heard so much about Jason Day, Rory and Nick Flannigan during the off season. Looks liek Rory is 175th in the world, which is respectable for a young guy, I guess I just heard so much hype about them, and now nothing.

My guess is they will go the way of Justin Rose, maybe fall of the map for a while and then come back gang-busters?

Anthony Kim will hopefully step it up.

I will say that Anothy Kim is a very good play, but is short game is a little suspect. At the players he got close to the top of the leader board, knocked it pin high in 2 on a par 5, had what should have been a pretty easy up and down and made bogey. I watch him chip into the water at Colonial.

Maybe he is just very agressive in his steez.

Jason and Rory are both having very respectable years. Its funny if you look at there year to date stats they are mirror images.

I still do not think Tiger is shaking on his walker. They both seem to need some seasoning yet, but by no means am I unimpressed.

Now the next question what happened too Two Gloves?

nothing beats expirience there are very few who can be thrown into a situation they have never expirienced before and still perform well...

Rory I understand failed to Qualify for the Open this year. Welcome to a world without invites.

Does anyone know if Jason Day tried to Qualify?

Rory McIlroy is having a solid season, and, considering it's his first full season out there is playing some consistent golf that'll set him up for next year with the benefit of some experience behind him.

Kaymer and Ross Fisher have both had wins and hopefully both players will use their recent successes as a springboard to move up a level and become big players and potential major contenders. Both have an abundance of talent and are fantastic ballstrikers and I look for them to become the next 'big names' from the clutch of European golfers.

Casey and Donald aren't really all that young these days, but both are having somewhat disappointing seasons if we're honest. Both have had the odd decent performance, including a run at the Masters for Casey, but in the main they've flattered to deceive for most of this season.

Again, not such a young name anymore, but Lee Westwood is striking it as well as I've ever seen him hit it and, with some new-found confidence in his short game, I reckon a major is on the cards this year. I narrowly missed out after picking him for the US Open but (and you heard it here first) - he wins The Open Championship this year... good.gif

Anthony Kim looks set to be an exciting prospect for the future and I was hugely impressed by his play at the Wachovia. For once, a confident player who actually delivers the goods it seems - unlike the conspicuous-by-his-absence Jason Day.
