hello!
going to la tomorrow AM.
need a course prefer near the grafton hotel on w. sunset, here is what the google maps spewed out:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=l&hl=en&...271912&z=12

looks like EAST has the best options for the publics, will walk, money not a big problem, time is the battle, would need like 1pm walk on single... obviously all those privates and that doesn't help me.

Griffith park looks like my only option??? thanks peter.

Why don't you try to play Rancho Park? It is close to West Hollywood and a wonderful public course. I'm not sure how far in advance you need to let them know but it's worth a shot.

don't forget about TRAVEL TIME! it could take 2hrs to get to the course with traffic,,,traffic starts @ 7:30am and ends at 8:pm! LOL LA I love it and miss it, but hate the drive...

Oh a very very serious note... you need to hit up In and OUt burger wink.gif get about 3 double doubles and tell me how they taste.. I want full descriptions too! I miss those babies every day sad.gif

have you checked south of LA for golf? I'm not sure what your time and travle schedule is, but I know there's a few nice ones south of LA. And north as well, I lived in Ventura (my daughter and ex live there still) and there were a few good ones up there too... maybe thousand oaks or the valley too.

Here's another link about Rancho Par that explains fees:

From West Hollywood it would only take you 15 minutes to get to and a max of 30 if there is monster traffic.

Best of luck and have a great round!

Check out Los Verdes... tee times are hard to come by on short notice. But you may have better luck as a single. But be prepared for a 6 hour round minimum.

thanks everyone,
i'm going to aim for rancho (on my way from lax to the hotel) and if the starter tells me to bail, i'll try griffith park, if that fails i'll find the pitch and putts and par 3's. Time is not too tight, but i want to wind up closer to the hotel so that i can at least get to the dinner without a lot of work. /peter
