Hi guys,

I am going to watch a practice round for the first time so I was hoping to get an idea of what to expect. I am assuming most of the players will be extra focused since its a major so getting autographs might be a difficult proposition. What is the proper etiquette regarding taking pictures during their round? Any other tips? Is there a way to see when a player is teeing off?

Thanks!

i've only gone to one practice round/pro-am type of deal, and that was at tiger's tournament last december, usually when you first get there you can get a little booklet or pamphlet that has the pairings or what time they go out at, not sure if it's the same with actual pga tour events. common sense would say not to take pictures in their backswing, but if you can get a good one at impact that'd be sweet. just make sure to take lots of pictures of the equipment!

I'm also going to Monday practice round and plan on taking many photos. Any tips would be appreciated here too.

Also going to Friday and Saturday rounds. Can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!

Best place to stand to get a good shot of a players swing from behind them is without a doubt 18. 18 has an elevated tee set way back in the middle of nowhere and you can stand with your camera about 5 feet behind the pro with nothing blocking your view. Only problem is most caddies run ahead and the pro only walks to the back tee, so they only have a driver in their hand, no bag shots there.

Autographs will still be easy to get from anyone outside the top 10. The big guns only want to sign before and after their round and every eBay autograph idiot is pushing their way to Tiger and Phil.
