I'm sure he did not mean to. He must have been distracted. Anyone catch him walk right by Jack Nicklaus, who was waiting to greet players at the conclusion of their rounds, as if he was not even there?
Oops.

I saw that...and rewound (rewinded?) my DVR again just to see it again. Seems like he was trying to toss his ball to one of the kids on the hill and walked right by Jack. Awkward...but funny.

His invitation for next year might get "lost in the mail."

JB was really just moving over to the side in preparation for his 47 practice handshakes and stutter-steps before he committed to the actual shot, er handshake.

Of course he was distracted and didn't see Mr. Nicklaus.... his caddy wasn't right behind him to line him up correctly before the handshake.
Found this on ESPN:
"We gave the incident a few rewinds on the DVR, and if a picture tells a thousand words, it was apparent that Holmes (who had just completed a final-round 5-over 77 to finish T-20) wanted no part of the tournament host as he headed toward the scorer's trailer."
Looks like more than a case of "accidental snubbing" to me and a bunch of others around the net....

Hate to be the bad guy on this one. I too have DVR and wanted to believe that it was an accident but it clearly shows him glancing at Jack and then turn away to toss a ball. I'm pretty sure tour players know on the final round @ Memorial, Jack will be there to greet you as you go in. My opinion, it was no accident. No reason to act like an a$$ shake his hand then toss your ball. Just my 2cents

If his invite gets lost over that I will lose even more respect for the man. Even though all of the respect I have lost has to due with the 10th hole at Long Bay

! He has to get a pass for giving a kid a ball and accidentally snubbing Mr. Nicklaus.

Are you freakin' serious!?! Oh it must be true if ESPN said it! They've never been known to create news before! Ever heard the old adage, "Don't believe everything you read?"

I was only kidding. Nicklaus wouldn't block him from the tournament for that.

Poor job either way. It's a fairly long walk up there to have not noticed him. Don't think he should be banned from the tournament or anything, just poor judgement. Looked to be frustrated after a less than stellar round.

Bottom line, he had to know that Jack stands there and greets players as they finish. Bush league to say the least.
Jeez, its Jack Nicklaus and your JB Holmes for crying out loud. He should be punished by having him show up at Jack's house and mow the lawn.

Look, no reason to be a jerk about it. I just thought it interesting that someone besides a member of this forum thought the same thing.
I'm fully aware that ESPN and other news sources don't always report all the facts, or all the truth for that matter. I take everything I read/hear with a grain of salt due to people putting "their spin" on a story. If you want to read the entire story, here's the

There have been reports since where he addressed by saying, he just didn't recognize Nicklaus in the jacket and sunglasses. As soon as someone mentioned it to him in the scoring tent he went back and apologzied to Jack, who laughed it off saying "no problem"
