do a search, there are other threads. but for certain get a caddie. you will have no chance reading those greens on your own the first time.
also, find time to go play fort ord bayonet course. and an evening to play the back nine a pacific grove muni. (with a 6 pack).

pray for little to no wind when playing Spanish Bay (that course can be extremely difficult in tough weather). i would get a forecaddie for Pebble (actually, they might MAKE you take one, i can't remember). oh yeah, and bring your wallet.
that trip will be a lot of fun! i'm definitely jealous!

Dress for summer golf and pack the bag for winter golf.
Play The back nine at Pacific grove (cheep course compared to its big brothers) to get the feel for the terrain.
Take a camera and caddie

prepare yourself for a 6 hour round at Pebble regardless of the weather.

I just realized you posted this topic in the "Golf Style" Forum...
what kind of "tips" are you looking for?

1. July means fog, so bring warm clothes.
2. Take a caddy.
3. Practice your chipping (the TV doesn't do Pebble justice with it's small greens).
4. Go to Roy's at Spanish Bay around sunset and listen to the bagpiper.
5. Spanish Bay doesn't have a range so be prepared to warm-up elsewhere (Spy or Poppy Hills).
6. Monterey Bay Aquarium is a fun non-golf activity.
7. Take a drive down to Bixby Bridge in Big Sur.
8. Dine at Mission Ranch in Carmel (Clint's place).
9. Enjoy strolling through Carmel.
10. Tip well.

Why should he tip well? He's already paying $450 just to play golf at Pebble. They should be tipping him!
