This topic won't appeal to golfers who have no interest in walking.

I have a Bag Boy Navigator with rc, but before I got it our regular group discussed the idea of
the attachment that allows four golf bags on one riding cart. The idea was to let everybody walk some, ride some, and no one has to carry a bag or push a cart. We had permission from our club to explore the idea, but we were never able to find a device that was easy to attach and remove. What we did find was more of a permanent attachment. We never pursued it, but I always wondered how it would work.

Of course, whoever is driving would have to play "caddie" and position the cart to let the walkers grab a club or two when they get close enough to their ball to narrow club selection.

Does it sound interesting to anyone? Do you think the group would be faster, slower, or about the same as 4 walkers?

I would think the club selection issues would present a major sticking point and actually slow things down, especially if everyone is on different areas of the fairway.

Friends and I end up doing this a lot of the time anyway (just strap them all on the back and have them hanging off the back). If everyone in the group is a "halfway decent" golfer it really isnt an issue.. if its a 7 iron -- give or take a club -- I walk with three, the one I think it is, the give and the take.

However, with high handicappers I could see this being a problem and as we all know slow play is a real issue at most courses - any idea that might slow things down even further would be shot down immediately. And we all know this too but a lot of clubs MAKE you get a cart for speed issues.

Personally, I like to strap the bag on the cart and walk.. but carrying the bag sucks.

I am not positive, but I vaguely remember something about Bandon Dunes having something like this available for people who don't want to hire a caddie.

At one of our local courses, they have 45 holes where only one of the nines finiish back at the house. During the week, they have a lot of nine hole leagues. To pick people up, they have one of those extra long carts apartments use to transport people. It has a rack on the back that can carry at least four sets of bags.

The 4 bag cart is what they use at Erin Hills.

No real comment here, but the subject topic looks like the punchline of a really bad golf joke...

Why in the world would this topic get moved from "General Golf"to "Golf Style?"

The main point was not about the attachment, but about a foursome playing with one riding cart.

I worked at a course that had a 4-bagger.......but after a couple of cocktails she was more like a 2 bagger. Seriously, we did have a 4 bagger attachment for our carts. Can't remember who made them or where we bought them. They do work well if the players are proactive about picking clubs.
