He was to play a stock set of clubs off the shelf, lets asssume he has practice time with them.

he would win using any kind of club. his clubs are not much different than what you can buy off the shelf

Nope everyone else plays custom. I also think he would win. To draw a comparison I think Gretsky still would have been MVP using a wood stick while the rest of the league used the new high tech composites.
