What is the lowest official scored in PGA tournament? By whom, when and where?
Also, same question for LPGA.
Thanks in advance.

In a PGA event it is 59 I believe. Someone shot 58 in a US Open qualifier a couple years ago but do not remember who (Shigeki maybe?). Chip Beck, Duval and Geiberger shot 59 and so did Annika.

Btw, just for laughs... I took one of my client for his 3rd golf ever and he scored a 199...
He was happy that he broke his 200.... Haha....

My god, how does someone shoot 200?
It's like they were trying to take as many hacks as they could, but got tired and settled for two bills worth. Did he have a tin cup moment where he had to put a 3 wood on the green, over water (like 70 times?)?
How long did your round take? I probably would've killed myself.

I used to play golf with a guy that was a life long golfer, we are talking 40+ years. we figured that in a day of golf including one round and range time he took about 570 swings. He usually shot about 110 or so, took a couple practice swings per shot and hit balls for quite awhile prior to going out. It was brutal.
On another side note a buddy of mine took the PAT yesterday, he passed, and the guy he played with shot a 103 in the second round and his only comment was "I am having a rough day." No kidding.

I thought you were suppose to pick up your ball and move along if it takes you more than 10 shots to get in the hole? Maybe that was just a country club rule...

Hmm... I didn't know that rule where 10 shots was maximum... If that is the case, then his official score will be 180...
It took more than 6 hours and luckily it was a Monday with no one behind us.
He was more like putting the ball on the fairway with his irons and more putts on the green as well...
One sand bunker was the worst... 9 strokes to get out....
But he was my client so no choice but to entertain a bit...

I don't know how either, but it happens. When I was caddying these past two years, I had one group shoot a combined 630. A 190, 167, 150 and a smooth 123. Now if I got tipped by the shot, that would have been nice! It was brutal, but it is probably the only round I've ever done where everyone followed the rules.
As far as the 58's, there have been two that I know of in US Open qualifying history. One by Olin Brown and one by Shegiki.

Chip Beck, Duval, Al Geiberger, Annika, Doug Dunakey (Nike Tour!), Notah Begay and most recently Jason Gore have shot 59

If I remember rightly, Bill Burke shot 54 in a tournament in about 1986 somewhere in the US; but it wasn't a PGA Tour event.
The main tour record is 59 - by Geiberger, Beck and Duval in 1977, 1991 and 1999 respectively.
In Europe, David Llewellyn shot 60 in the Biarritz Open a few years back.

And Tiger did also about two years ago if I am correct.

Tiger's lowest 18 hole score in competition is 61. He's done it twice.

Wow there are so many ways I could go with that 630

But I guess I will just settle for: Imagine the guy who shot 123 telling his wife tht night, well I beat Tim by 67 shots, Joe by 44 shots, but Bob gave me a run for my money, I only beat him by 27.

I was paired with a guy who in a legitimate stroke play tournament shot 144 80/64. He was very excited by his 16 stroke improvment on the back nine and I guess he should be. All I know is it made my 93 look real good in comparison.

Martin Kaymer shot a 59 on the EPD Tour in ´06 (he was 22 back then). That round included a bogey as well.

Mickelson's round was pretty special, but the Grand Slam of Golf isn't a sanctioned PGA Tour event as far as I'm aware.
Great round though, nonetheless.

They were talking about that on the XM coverage the other day. Bogn did shoot a 58 several years ago in the final round. Funny thing is, he was in the final group, and was two shots back. The guy he was playing shot 61 with a 2 shot lead and lost by one! That has to hurt.
Adrien Mork of France shot 59 in Morocco in 2006. (Challenge Tour : 2nd european league)
