Finally got around to getting this post up. My bag is mostly new this year, with the exception of my hybrids. I decided to pay the wonderful Mr. Joe Kwok a visit and have him set me up across the board...and it was sure worth it!

My Scratch irons in particular, have been dialed in by Joe Kwok to utter perfection! He also set up my driver and 3 wood...leaving they hybrids and my putter as only clubs in my bag he has not touched....YET! wink.gif

So here it all is!

RIDE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IRONS

Scratch Tour Department SB-1s - Antique finish
1/2" over, 2* upright, w/lofts bent 1* strong
4 thru PW
Scratch 53* wedge
Scratch 58* wedge
Scratch white/green striped ferrules
Tour Concept X1 shafts throughout
Lamkin Crossline Cord grips - double wrapped
KWOK'D!!!!!!!!!!!

What can I say about these? The best irons...much less blades...that I have ever hit. They are so forgiving that I forget I am playing a blade! Combined with the TC shafts...these things feel soooooo smooth! And one of the most amazing parts of my set...are the wedges. I have never felt this good with wedges in my hand! They are pin seekingly accurate!

And looks? Well....these irons are drop dead SEXY if I may say so myself! Like I've said before...there is only one problem with my irons...with Joe dialing in, and Ari's team at Scratch delivering the goods...I am totally out of excuses! smile.gif

I almost went with my initials stamped on the heads, but chose to pay tribute to Joe's work instead. smile.gif It was a surprise to Joe, and a really nice touch I thought....really glad I did it.

DRIVER

Cobra L4V X 9* w/Whiteboard 63x @ 44.75"
Lamkin Crossline Cord grip - double wrapped

This thing is the real deal....a total BEAST! I have not had this much fun and confidence driving the golf ball in years! Forgiving, straight, and......LONG!!! And call me nuts...but I love the sound!

3 Wood

Sonartec GS Tour 15* w/Fuji LE 660 Kamo shaft
Lamkin Crossline Cord grip - double wrapped

Amazing head and shaft combo...great trajectory, and really accurate.

Hybrid

Adams IDEA Pro 20* w/VS Proto ByYou 80-S shaft

Hogan EDGE C.F.T. 19*

These are still a work in progress. Nothing exciting...so no pics.

Putter

T.P. Mills 'Fused' Blade

INCREDIBLE looking and feeling putter. This is a one of a kind, from what I've been told, and considering all the work that went into it...there may not be another. David Mills fused together carbon and stainless steel into one piece....intelligently positioning each metal for optimal results. Carbon on the face for feel...and SS on the sole and towards the back for better weight distribution. It's functional art IMHO! smile.gif

Bags

MacKenzie Original Walker leather bag
Black/Ivory with red embroidery
SINGLE STRAP! smile.gif

Quite frankly the best bag I have ever seen, felt, or carried! I have never found a 2-strap bag that suits me...and often end up carrying them with one strap anyway. This bag has been a dream come true...a well designed and thick single strap system...just like it should be! OH and it smells soooooooooooo good! smile.gif This is my bag of choice for when I walk.

And a really special saying that a dear friend of mine uses. It's great to have it right there on the bag for me to see.

And my screen/nickname smile.gif

T.P. Mills Ping Hoofer

Of the 2-strap stand bags, this one is the best of the bunch. And I love the way this one was done up by the great folks at T.P. Mills! I used this one when I ride.

Scratch Staff Bag

Mainly for decoration...to store extra clubs...but she's a real beauty!

Thanks for looking!!!

NICE!

Love the irons!

How do you like the TC shaft? I have TCS3 shafts and they are very smooth.

Uh, gotta be one of the SICKEST WITB's on this site!!!
I had the distinct priviledge of hitting the 7 and PW of this set last friday (thank GOD no hosel rockets). The sweetest Blades I have ever hit. they feel as forgiving as my 701 tours.
Also hit that L4V and I ALMOST drank the Kool Aid!!! LOL.

Now all you need to do is dial in the hybrids. Before you make a decision, hit the Bridgestone J36 (i'll have mine in 2 weeks so you know what that means).

Grum
Not a fan of the mackenzie, but the clubs, are top notch.

If I were to get another set(i probably will eventually!) antique it'll be.

Good stuff Ride, your gear looks great. I think that is one of the coolest putters ever.

I just recently added the GS Tour 3 wood to the bag, very happy with the price and performance.
anders
Amazing set up of "proper" golf kit! Bet you take them to bed with you!
cj1203
I like the IP Diamana.. those look sick

The Mills is amazing!

Thanks! Yes....I LOVE the TC shafts. These made a huge difference over the PX 6.0s I had in my previous set. Everything about them is just right...feel, flex...they are very smooth indeed. I have no complaints at all.

LOL! Yeah...that would have been an expensive hosel rocket! wink.gif

I will surely give the J36 hybrid a look....I really love what Bridgestone brings to the table and have to believe that this hybrid will be awesome. We deffo need to get out and play once you get it!

OK - gut reaction here:

If you and I had a match and you showed up with that kit, I'd sh** my pants and run the other way. Sweet looking setup, man.

Hell, your bag and its contents probably comprise what I've spent on golf equipment in my entire life...but now I have this inexplicable urge to get kwok'd.

Funny stuff Dr. P smile.gif

Most guys have no clue what my clubs are...and about the only club that gets any recognition is the Cobra driver. I like it that way...under the radar for the most part...with only those who truly KNOW that will know wink.gif

But as great as they are...these clubs don't make me better than you, or anyone else...but the do make ME better than the old me smile.gif

Oh and I'm broke now...so it's all good! wink.gif

What a bunch of crap!!! HA... Those are some of the sweetest irons I have ever seen. Love the driver too, I have one and slowly everyone I play with is switching. I wonder how many Cobra's will be out there this summer?
Luke_Donald
Probably the best bag I have ever seen. Just a Graf C-Note in the hybrid, change the GS Tour against a CB2 and it would be even better. But that irons and the wedges and driver..... man_in_love.gif

Great bag and pictures, thanks for sharing.
What swingweight did the Scratch irons come out to at 1/2 inch over?
Thanks,

I think that MacKenzie bag is awesome as well as those irons and wedges. If I post a photo edition WITB with a Mackenzie and Scratch irons and wedges in antique finish please don't call me "copy cat!!"(LOL!) Awsome stuff man! clapping.gif

Shoot. You may RIDE a mountain, but you OWN a course with that bag. Just a perdy, PERDY setup from the ground up...except maybe the driver, but the driver's not supposed to look good. Plus, Joe's good enough to remove the nasty cyanide that tends to get mixed in with Kool-Aid. tongue.gif

But the putter? [sing-song] t i g h t ! ! ! [/sing-song] Just a classy looking piece to cap off a classic looking bag. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. good.gif

I believe there's a word that the kid's on your side of the pond would use to describe that bag. Sick!

Scratch irons and wedges given the Kwok treatment, doesn't get any better than that mate. As for the putter, it made me cry. Beautiful.

Loving the old school Mackenzie bag as well good.gif

Dr. P

plus one here. It's the blades with a skinny bag combo that scares me. I've played numerous guys with old skinny walking bags (usually faded blue ping bags) filled with blades that can flat out play.

Love the mackenzie bag, Scratch irons, putter combo. The driver is sweet, but an old Titleist 983 would really be a fit kit.
RIDEamountain
Yeah...everything is what I would call modern classic...bag, irons, putter. The driver is a bit out of place.....but man.....is that Cobra LONG and STRAIGHT!!! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

On a side note...if anyone has remotely considered plunking down the cash for a MacKenzie.........DO IT! I just LOVE that bag!
