Has anyone played Leatherstocking in Cooperstown, NY ? If so, how is it - any recommendations for playing it ?

The entire scene is wonderful. The Otesaga hotel, the HOF, and the golf course, It is a wonderful classic old course and the last two holes are especially great. The 18th tee is literally in the lake and you have to decide how much to cut off and then you play the hole along and around the lake. I had a great experience in Copperstown and playing the course.

How tight is the course ? Are there a lot of uphill/downhill holes ?

Ditto on what loosh said, if you have the chance to play it, do so. Great course, fabulous views of Otsego Lake and Cooperwtown, and some really good golf holes.

The 4 holes on the west side of Rt. 28 are a bit hilly, but not not extreme.

Not a tight course at all. Most of the holes run adjacent to on another. And as noted, on #18, a Par 5, instead of an island green, you are on an island tee. You can hit anything from a 5 iron to Driver off the tee, depending on how much water you want to carry.

My wife's family owns an old farm house about 45 minutes from Cooperstown. The next time we visit I will be playing there. Be sure and spend some time in Cooperstown, a great town!
