Do you know if you're going to be on the Missouri or Kansas side? I guess your price range is very definitive as well.
Here is a site that has a lot of ratings for courses in the area:
http://www.kcmetrogolf.com/I have played Sycamore Ridge which is about an hour south of downtown (maybe a little less) but it's considered one of the best in Kansas.

If you have the time you should head 2 hrs. west to Manhattan, KS. We have a great course out here named Colbert Hills. It is LONG and challenging, tons of elevations changes. You won't be disappointed. Other than they have begun construction on a new clubhouse, everything is spectacular.

You can come to the Oaks in Leavenworth on a saturday or sunday and get into a good old fashioned Dog Fight.......................and not the Michael Vick kind either.............

There is also the Alvamar course in Lawrence (1/2 west of KC). The Colbert course is one of the best in the area. There are several in KC itself worth playing too.

colbert hills is nice but my old man is driving up 8 hrs to see me. i don't think 2 hr drive more will be fun. colbert hills has no trees just like back home Oklahoma panhandle. I live in the lawrence area. i just don't know much about courses in the kansas city area MO or KS side. i have played alvamar and surrounding courses. nothing in Kansas City. Price is not a problem.
My Dad wants to play a course that has a caddy. He nor I have ever played with a caddy before. I don't know of any. can someone help.
