Looks like the week after the Buick Open in Michigan they will have the qualifier for the British Open in Dearborn Mi at an old Donald Ross course called Dearborn Country Club. I know the course well. One of my favorite in Michigan. The greens are the best greens I have ever played. Perfect and fast.

Qualifying for the 2008 (British) Open Championship to take place Monday June 30th 2008 at the Dearborn Country Club located in Dearborn, Michigan....

Did you get a fast day for the greens? They have them rolled this year. Greens are the best in the area IMO. Fred Green the Greens Superintendent it also the best in the area.

Grrrrrrreasy! Only other course Ive seen with AS perfect greens is Forest Dunes, and everybody knows theyre pretty legendary in the area. Lots of cool strategy too, like the long green and all those tiers on 18 and the little bump that seperates the back part of #15. The fairway blends seemlessly into the green, a feature I imagine is really hard to keep up throughout the year, but is awesome to play...

The Greens Supt is really named "Mr. Green"?

I believe my grandfather was a member in the 1930s and 1940s.

Kinda disappointed with the greens speed... Felt they definitely could've made em faster and still fair. Found plenty of uphill or flat putts to be pretty slow. Not sure if they did that on purpose to keep play moving along or what. But IMO I put Meadowbrook, especially during their Invitational last week, as harder and faster greens. Loved the rest of the course tho, perfect condition. Unfortunately not enough birdies and tired legs kept me from heading down to Pinehurst.

I think you are in the wrong thread. This is about Open Championship qualifying. I assume you just tried US Am qualifying since you mentioned Pinehurst?
