Great googly moogly. There is no chance that I am ever attempting to get a ball out of a hazard. And we don't even have gators in Maryland. That dude is just unreal tough to be a pro golfball diver in the gator state. superman.gif

That gator is a pair of shoes and a hand bag now.

The biggest hazard around here is up in the hills, miss the fairway and make sure you don't step on a rattle snake getting your ball.

Imagine that. I guy swimming in a swamp with an alligator gets bite and the alligator is "butchered". Seems like survival of the fittest to me and the 'gator should have won.

Yeah, the 'gator just did what gators do. Somehow doesn't seem fair.... dntknw.gif

Its really a sad commentary on how society looks at wildlife down here.... Its very common to hear about the little old ladies (esp. the snow birds... retirees from up north) feeding the scraps to the baby alligators because they are cute, then the gators get bigger(like they all do) and then they stop feeding it and one day Fido is down by the water with the little old lady and that same gator gets either or both of them; or the article around two weeks ago where an older gentleman out on the course had his little rat dog with him, the dog hops out to get a drink from the pond, wasn’t even a snack for the gator that grabbed him, then the old man tries to rescue the dog from the 14' gator and gets eaten too, next day 2 gators killed because the first one didn’t have the remains in it so obviously the wrong gator was put down, so they go back to make sure to get the "problem" animal... and this is a weekly occurrence down here just really really pathetic that suddenly it's a nuisance gator and has to be put down... Killing an animal for doing exactly what comes naturally to it is utterly obsurd...

This is just another perfect piece of evidence to support my theory that alligators speed up the pace of play. Yes, I'm speaking to you mister ball retriever guy spending 10 minutes searching for that top flite, I hope you see this article and remember....That gator wants you more than you want that top flite!

I agree totally. I think local news here said that course is part of a "nature preserve".

We have alligators on my home course. I definitely don't look for balls in the edge of the water hazards.

Build a course on a marsh, and the Gators the nuisance? Nuts, that beast should not have to die!

The girl in the hat was kinda cute. wink.gif

So much for "protecting" the endangered species.

The scuba diver should be held responsible for the death of that gator. When a for-profit business' actions result in a protected animal's death anywhere else, the response is to string them up. Why is the alligator a nuiscance because some idiot wanted to make a buck by swimming in a marsh?
