I was reading through my issues of GolfWorld (I'm a bit backed-up) and was reading an article by Tim Rosaforte, "Is Stan the man for Sergio", in the March 21st 2008 issue.
I was looking at the photo that accompanied the article where Sergio was using a "regular" (blade) putter with a "fat grip". After seeing the Rossa putter, I liked it, but couldn't figure out which model it was. It looks like a CGB model similar to a Daytona...but it has 3 tungsten weight rods and the bumper on the toe looks like it has a taller end (similar to a Cameron Circa 3 or Imola).
I've looked online and did a search on this forum...but didn't couldn't identify the model. Anyone know??
I searched everywhere for an online photo..but couldn't find one. If needed, I can scan the photo from the article and include it in the thread.

I don't think that is it. The putter in the picture was darker and had the tungsten weight rods in the bumpers. It also had the TM/Rossa logo in the "cavity"...I'll see if I can scan a picture...

There was a thread about this recently. The photo from the magazine is of a new TM Rossa model that is currently Tour-only. It looks like a cross between the last 2 versions of the Rossa AGSI putters with the tungsten weights in the bumpers and the black head color with the AGSI+ insert.
He was definitely using an older Scotty Cameron putter at the Byron Nelson. It was mentioned in a thread here that it was an old putter he had in his garage.

Great...Thanks! I noticed he switched to a Cameron recently, but when I saw the photo from Bay Hills, I really liked the lines of that putter...but couldn't find it.
I searched through our forums and couldn't find any threads on the TM putter. Thanks for the info!

Cameron has to be feeling pretty good with his wins this year. Was Darren Clarke using a Cameron this weekend as well?

One round out of the last how many? He is one of the best ball strikers on tour. Some days the putts will be closer than others...I am a Sergio fan but there is no way anyone can say he is even a mediocre putter by tour standards...If he was, he would have won a few Majors by now...

I thought the same thing. The model in the close-up pics are more of an Anser design...where the model in the magazine look more like a Circa style putter.
The easiest way to tell is be look at the base of the neck. The model in the magazine has a flat topline all the way to the neck. The model in the close-up pic has that slight dip/recession right before the neck.

What I meant is that he is so good at all the other aspects of his game, it make his mediocre putting stand out even more. Sergio is much better in the other aspects than the average PGA tour player. He should be winning with the way he hits the ball and all the greens he hits. He has putted himself out of two majors that I can think of right off the top of my head...

Ah sorry, see what you mean now and i'm in total agreement with that, personally i think he is the best ball striker out there, but his putting woes cover the rest of it up

The domminant head design in this scanned putter is the Rossa Imola Sport. The sport compared to the tour version has a plumbers neck where the tour has a goose neck looking one. But this looks like a cross between the Daytona and the Imola because of the gap in the flange. Pretty sweet!
If he would just stop thinking about mechanics and just let go, he would win everything!!!! Just give me 5 minutes with him! His problems would be solved.

Go figure that Sergio was 17th on tour last year in putts per round. I guess he was hitting a couple less gir's and getting up and down? T15th last year in putts per gir. Yup... upon checking, hitting fewer greens last year than in years past looks to be the cause.

Wow! I never would have guessed that. It seemed like he missed everyone they showed on TV. Maybe he just misses the important ones...Whatever it is, I wish he would get his head out of his butt and win some big tournaments...I hate to see talent wasted...

I did find it interesting that Sergio had a TM Rossa AGSI+ yellow headcover on the putter. It was obviously a Scotty since SC's name was visible on the face of the putter during the a few close-up shots yesterday. I enjoyed his TM commercial during the trophy presentation as well.
