I did a search and I found a link but it did not have anything about the midslant. What are the main differences and does anyone have pictures of the Newport and Newport 2 midslant from address? (I own a Newport 2). I'm going to get a Studio Select and I want to know the differences.
Thanks.

Newport = Shorter from heel to toe. Slightly thicker topline. Round bumpers on the flange. Rounded sole.

Newport 2 = Longer heel to toe, thinner topline, thin flat bumpers on the flange. Sole is divided in 3 straight segments. heel, middle, toe. Sole is shaped similar to \___/ without such an extreme angle.

Mid Slant = The hosel slants from the shaft butt towards the face to create offset, instead of notching the hosel offset at the shaft butt and then having it hang down straight to the putter head.
Another way to describe it would be a long hoseled santa fe neck with 1/2 shaft more offset.
Mid slants typically create more toe flow than the standard hosel but less than a santa fe. It is an in between set up for toe flow.

Hope this helps

Ive got a 1.5 on the way. Looking forward to see how it goes. Thanks for the info on the differences. Ive never known how to describe the differences. Thanks!

Just be sure to know the 1.5 is shorter due to the shorter neck on it, so for standard length you may neeed a 35".

If you're a NP 2 guy I'm thinking you wouldn't like the midslant too much. When Cameron did his first Newport 2 Pro Platinum (the first version with three red dots on the face) it was a midslant and I couldn't stand looking at it. I found an Oil Can NP 2 in good shape on ebay and had it plated for the look and feel I wanted...then the next year, 2001, he came out with it in a plumber's neck.

^^Totally agree. That Mid-slant was my first Scotty, and I traded it in after 10 rounds. I'm a big fan of the Select 2.

I have a Select mid slant I'm playing around with. I liked the look of it at address better than the plumbers neck, and it had the appearance of a bit less offset (which I liked). Haven't played a round of golf with it. In doing the face balance finger test vs. the NP 2 plumbers neck, the toe flow appeared to be the same.
