I use the Oakley half-jackets and the Nike Skylon EXP's with the "golf lenses".

The EXP's are perfect for golf- IMO.

Just try before you buy. Also, check out Oakley. I have a very durable set that I keep in my bag all the time.

I have the Callaway S200 and they do the job. I have also used the Oakley half jacket, and I did not notice that much of a difference between the two.

They're a little more expensive but check out Kaenon:

I have a pair Peak Visions and think they are great. I have been happy with them for the past year or so. I can easily see the contours in the green with them on, which is better than I can say for the other glasses I have tried. I like being able to put them on and not take them off during the round. One less thing to mess with.

Thanks for the replies

I picked up a pair of Tifosi Scattos with the photochromic EC Fototec lenses and I love them. They're super light and they darken depending on the amount of sun and provide excellent contrast which I found very helpful on reading greens. As a matter of fact, the first time I wore them on the course I started my round by draining a 20ft par putt. Plus they're very reasonably prices, on 59.99 at Zappos.com. Great stuff.

Habervision has a golf specific line and they are available in prescription also .

Oakley may have the G30 rose lenses for golf, but the green NEOX lenses in the Callaway golf sunglasses beats the Oakleys in my view.
Best lens ever for golf. You can keep the sunglasses on during the entire round.

1. You see the ball better in the air, on the fairway and on the green
2. It still blocks out the most harmful light
3. Everything on the golf course look much greener ands clearer - it really is an amazing lens for golf in sunny conditions ok.gif
4. You can read the curves and the green much better with these sunglasses on.

The green NEOX lens, which all the Callaway golf sunglasses have, is the best lens I've tried yet - and I have owned: Bollé Kickback, Oakley G30 Radar and also Ray Ban and Peak Vision.

NYX has a three lens system for a reasonable price and different styles to choose from.

+1 on the Kaenon. I used the PeakVisions for the last two years and they just kind of wore out. Replaced them with Callaway's and they were junk. (my experience)

I currently use the Kaenon Hard Kore's and in the environment I play in they are fantastic! (Florida)

Anyone have a big head and buy golf sunglasses? I used to have the Oakley Half-Jacket XLJ Golf Array, but they were too narrow and were really uncomfortable. They would press in my temples and give me headaches.

I'm looking for a new pair to wear...can't be Oakley.

I wear a 7 3/8 hat so I guess you would say my head is big.

I wear SwissFlex (made of the same material that they make synthetic heart valves from) and a pair of Chrome Hearts which are a "hybrid" aviator. I wear both of them to play golf in and the SwissFlex have a brown lense that I can even use on cloudy days and I see so well with them. They are both prescription and you will have to go to a good optical store to get these, but they are worth every penny I paid for them. The SwissFlex come in about every color imaginable and they truly are indestructable (within reason)

What kind of glasses are best suited for golf ?
On the Kaenon website, they don't state anywhere (or did I miss it pardon.gif ) what kind of glasses they recommend for golf.

I really like the green NEOX glasses from Callaway - what kind of glasses should I pick from Kaenon ?

You should avoid Half Jackets - even the XLJ, if you have a big head. Go for the largest Oakley Radar with the golf G30 lenses - they will suit your head.

Sorry, I meant what kind of lenses are best suited for golf.......in my native language, lenses are called glasses and glasses are called something completely different......briller tongue.gif
So what I meant was, what kind of lenses Kaenon recommends for golfing.....and if only I took the time and did a thorough search on the Kaenon website, I would have found out now that Kaenon recommends the lightest colored of the copper lenses for golf - in fact they look just like the copper brown G30 lenses from Oakley, which Oakley also recommends for golf. Only the lenses from Kaenon are polarized, which the Oakleys are not.......

Don't know if polarized lenses are great for golf or not.....probably yet again a very subjective question blind.gif

But thanks for answering my question Shawnee smile.gif
