Four Nike staffer's in top 6...with more players behind them playing solid. Pretty amazing what the company has evolved into. IMO

They seem to always have a pretty good showing.
This week is great though. I'm sure they'll spin this one well. They have a solid stable of talent outside of Tiger.

watching masters on tivo thinking the same thing......
if they could come out with a set set of irons that look like the spilt cavity without all the rivots/colors etc....I'd be all over of them....
they have a huge opportunity to gain market share... but their line up now is weak.....cci's......UGLY

However, except for Cink, they all seem to not be using the sumo5900 or sumo tour. They need some nice looking irons like the split cavities scheduled for later this year (

I don't play any Nike equipment...I have Srixon irons and Cleveland woods/wedges. With all the talk being about Titleist, TM, or Callaway it's good to see a "mid major" company doing good. While watching earlier today, it seemed there was a Swoosh everytime they switched to someone. GO SLINGSHOTS!

Mid Major? rank in golf sales: 1. Callaway 2. TaylorMade 3. Nike 4. Achushnet (Titleist/Cobra).

They have certainly struck gold with their players. Instead of going after big names, they go after the players who look to be "on the brink of". Just look at KJ Choi. He was picking up steam and coming into his own on tour. Nike snagged him before he exploded.

Unfortuneatly the only staffer that will impact sales ain't going to win.... I can hear the silence at the pro shops on Monday with nobody calling up to get what Trevor Immelman was playing....
If Casey wins that could cause people to bring their Nike equipment back for trade in

It really is amazing. When Tiger signed just over a decade ago, Nike had a few guys wearing shoes and clothing (i.e. Curtis Strange), but nothing else.
Just shows what fortitude and well-spent money can do.

Nike is THE BEST MARKETING company. That's what they do best. I mean how can a NBA rookie 25 years ago get a shoe deal and today we know them as AIR JORDAN'S.
It proves that Nike is and excellent marketing company. They will do something with this.

Nike Golf makes very good equipment.
Micheal Jordan....I don't think marketing is why we know them as Air Jordans. He is the best Basketball player who ever lived. All of the games he won (6 titles) and MVP's are what mde him great. If the shoes were ugly or were not very good then there would be no Air Jordan. Yes Nike is the best at creating demand from consumers but what truley seperates them is their ability to pick athletes who are winners.

Those "ugly" CCI's just got a green jacket...since there is no "tour" SUMO 5000 does that mean that he's playing a head similiar (to an extent, of course) to what we buy off of the rack?

What if Nike decided to go against the idea of signing Woods, because he might be a flash in the pan. Then, Woods being the way he is, holds a grudge against NIKE and refuses to sign with them, after being the amazing talent he was expected to be. WHO DID HE SIGN WITH?
Mizuno
Callaway
Titleist
Ping
Cobra
Cleveland
Think about that. Titleist seems like the best fit, but he is too hip for Titleist.

And that statement is true of literally every OEM out there...3 degree closed faces on the drivers, $10 stock shafts on the drivers, super strong lofts on irons, etc...across the board whether it is taylormade, callaway, titleist, adams, nickent, bridgestone, cobra, etc...the only exception to a certain extent is Ping, but even on the drivers, they do it. Have seen a nationwide players G10 vs a OTR G10, noticeable difference both were 9.5 lofts according to the sole, but that is only similarity...
Don't know why Nike is villified for creating product for their staff and all other OEMs are cheered for the same and 90% of the one-off items aren't for sale no matter what...

I understand taht the cci's have come under some criticism for thier appearance, but in the end it is their performance that mattrs.
They are a very solid golf club, the best produced by Nike so far..the "busy" back may not be all that popular, but performance rules in the end.
Besides be patient who knows what is around the corner from their techs?

the cci's just went and won themselves a major. Plus I know they're not as attractive as clean cut blades but the look can't be called ugly. If anyone has ever read today's golfer the cci's were always referred to as great looking. I'd much rather be playing with my cci's than r7 tps or even the titleist z backed clubs when it comes to looks

I'm with you Adam..my cci's are the best clubs I have ever hit.
Wonderfully consistent through the bag..the feel; is unlike any other cavity back I have ever hit.
Very workable off the face...I love them
