This unique golf bag was made by Mizuno probably in the 70's or early 80's. The bag is in really good condition and comes with a rain cover. There are some Japanese Kanji tags inside the bag but I'm not sure what they say. My father who won it off a "buddy" during a skins game in the late 70's gave it to me about 7 years ago. I've been using it to hold all my extra golf clubs in the garage. A few question to my fellow golfwrx'ers… Have you ever seen a golf bag like this? Did Mizuno make a lot of these "one of bags" back in the day? Does anyone think it's worth anything? Thanks for any and all inputs from everyone, in advance…. Wow! I haven't seen one like that before, I imagine it a collector would pay big bucks for that.

I think I would get that out of the garage and put it in a safe dry place in the house. That's got to be worth some money!

Yeah the bag is very unique. I’ve been trying to get some information on it for awhile and decided to use this forum as a way to get the word out. The bag also has some cool metal placards that have the Augusta National symbol. All the wording and the picture of the 12th hole are embroidered.

I have a great idea - send me the bag and I'll keep it warm and dry in my golf room! Looks really cool, I'd have that bag proudly on display! Good luck finding out all the particulars about it !

My guess is that you could get approximately $150 for it on ebay.
A Masters souvenir collector may pay more.

Heck, I'd give $150 for that bag. That is really nice looking. I have to believe that that is a very valuable bag and you should research it to find out what it's worth.

Your not planning on getting rid of it are you?
Looks to have more sentimental value if anything... being you dads old golf bounty.
By the way nice greens... that can't be a navy golf course

Sea Bee Golf Course at Port Huneme. Naval Base Ventura County. The course is not that great but we do have some of the best greens in the county.

They made a set of commemorative "Masters" irons as well. I've seen the irons, but have never seen the bag.
Really cool!

Tough call. Could be worth hundreds to the right person. I could picture that bag inside a plexiglass box in my golf-shop, along with the 18th flag and the white caddy jumpsuit.
Good luck!

I have a few other Masters items that a friend got for me when we went to the Masters a few years back. I suppose one day when I have a den I can put somthing together. I guess the idea of making a lamp post out of it is a bad one. lol

Sweet. That's gotta be a one of a kind. I'd like to know who lost that bag to your Ol' Man in a skins game?? I can just imaginge it now, guy must have been mouthing-off and Pop's said put your money where your mouth is. And proceeded to put a can of whoop-a*s on him!! Don't sell it, save that sucker as a momento.

Show up at the front gate sometime with that bag and maybe they'll let you play the course!

I think its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. As obvious as that sounds.
If you tried to sell it on ebay for example, unless someone is looking for it the bag would likely not sell, or sell for cheap.
If profit was your intention, you would have better luck listing it in the for sale section here and ask everybody interested to submit bids for a wk, then at end of wk, sell it to high bidder.
I do think its a big garish and loud, but on other hand it is retro and retro is in. Someone would want it. If you like it, then keep it, or use it. So many people have things they like, a commerorative scotty for example, that sits on a rack on display, useless.
Take it out, you will get noticed for sure.

Yeah my dad used to be a pretty good stick back in the day. He’s approaching 70 now, but still has the “fighting” sprit when we play. Along with some of his other golf equipment he also gave me his first set of clubs, but I made the mistake of throwing them away during a PCS move with the military. They were a set of McGregor VIP’s. I kick myself every time I think of that.

I have a tournament at Carson CA this weekend. I’ll bust it out for that. I should be the talk of course, especially if I’m wearing my Payne Stewart outfit.

I would use the word “beautiful” very loosely when describing Victoria Links. The vacinity around that course scares me. I played a practice round there, a few weeks back and I thought I was going to get rolled in the parking lot.

That's pretty much how I felt when I saw it, especially since I was expecting something really sweet. I had a mouthful of Red Stripe and nearly spit it out when I saw it.
Per the episode of Seinfeld, that bag is breathtaking.

I agree that the bag is not going to win any beauty contest anytime soon. You have to admit that the bag is very unique and when I originally posted the pictures I just wanted to get some information on it from fellow WRXer’s.
