WRXers:

After reading this board for a couple of years, I've noticed that a number of recurring threads are posted every few months, which ask (and answer) the same questions over and over. They're posted in good faith by new users, who probably realize later on that their queries have been answered repeatedly (and that they'll be asked many times again).

How do I keep my Scotty Cameron putter from rusting? Are Tiger's irons Enzo forged? What's spining?

What other threads to show up time after time?

WW
Hifade
Agreed, and that will happen with the influx of new members we have joining every day. What we ask is that everyone uses the SEARCH function first, when asking a question, because you will more than likely find your answer, and then some, since it's probably been discussed in great lengths prior.
drew123
I have seen the Tiger irons are really restamped mizuno blades come up quite a few times in the time that I have been a member.
HipCheck
By FAR the best is:

"David Duval's Round Today --- Duval shot -3 today. He's back! Go Double D! I'm pulling for you!!!!"

P.S. The leader is at -11. russian_roulette.gif

This thread pops up every 3 months or so, when DD plays in a tournament.
gentles
Any thread with the words "Scotty Cameron" will undoubtedly end up with the words "Xerox" , "copy" and Karsten...

After his topped - pulled - shanked - worm burner 3 wood off the deck OB yesterday it may be safe to say he is not back. He ended up shooting a very ugly 77 yesterday.
TheCapedAvenger
Ironically, this thread comes up once every couple months.

Way to buck the trend there, mate-o!
FlyFish
What is the most forgiving fairway wood off of the deck?
Which hybrid does not go left?
Should I carry 3 or 4 wedges?
Is David Leadbetter over rated?
Are tour issue clubs really any different?
Are my launch monitor numbers good?
How can I get more distance?
How do Project X irons compare to Dynamic Gold?
What is the longest driver?
Johnny Miller.

I already compiled all the recurring Tiger threads into a FAQ so I don't need to go there...
retep
i am so disappointed that no one has brought up Pink Shirts in a while!

btw... nike has a nice one i saw last week in atlanta.
Ward
what's the most forgiving players iron
why do better players prefer a thin topline
forged or cast wedges
have you ditched your fw woods for hybrids
Gxgolfer
Orange sticks in player's bags?

Why is the Board so slow?

Not really a topic but,

Missing the BST rules or that there is a website help section.

Blades vs Cavity backs...I have seen more creative ways to restart this debate than I can count...PLEASE give it a rest russian_roulette.gif They always get me too. I open a thread thinking it is something else and there it is. Got me again... clapping.gif

How do you clean grips ?
HipCheck
Who's rockin' a white belt???!!!!
blade_man
Do you use iron head covers? And I have only been on here a couple of months and seen this posted at least three times!!
Who gives a crap?
kitsoasis
i'm just starting out, should i practice with the hardest blades i can find?

also the tiger's putter ones, why do people not read the Tiger FAQ. seriously. i read that when i first joined the site, there is so much information there anyone who reads it can be considered a Tiger specialist. it is as if people don't want to believe Tiger's irons are actually Nike so they start a new thread hoping for someone to say: "I just texted Tiger and he said his irons are Mizunos with Nike stamps."
Golf472
Which Rangefinder should I buy or should I get a Sky Caddie?
Which is Better?
nateobot
How do you remove paintfill?
Favorite headcovers?
Why does TP Mills copy Scotty Cameron?
mat562
Which wedge spins the most?

Guaranteed to be posted by someone who doesn't actually spin the ball anyway since he strikes it poorly.
phatchrisrules
Did I buy a counterfeit club? (I think people are becoming a little too paranoid about this...)
John Daly anything
Ping Eye2+ rule...Gosh I hate those threads
I'm a 49 handicap but I need something with low offset and a knifishly thin topline with as much forgiveness as a Nike 5900...anything exist?
Why did Ping leave a gap in their power of 10 lineup...I want the i5 but orange...
Do I need a new driver or a lesson when I hook 107 yards offline and low...ANSWER: LESSON
Do I need stiff shafts????

And lastly...

I am looking for new irons...should I get X or Y. Needless to say everyone adds more options then helps the OP narrow down his search. And normally there will be some guy who drones on and on about some set of super thin blades that they picked to help them hit the ball better and they are so forgiving the aformentioned 49 handicap could easily shoot 75 with these clubs. Then someone will chime in with either a "Ping Eye 2+" or a "who cares"

I am bitter this morning...

Ghost_Orchid
Weird, i was thinking the same thing how the same topics keeps recurring....

What ball to use? More distance, more spin, more soft, more hard, what ball feels like this ball...blah blah fkcing blah!!!
Longest Driver?
Straightest Driver?
What shaft is better....
Tiger this, Tiger that...
BST rules this..BST rules that...

My local club opened last week, then we got about 4" yesterday..WTF!!!!!!
The best thread for me are the ones i can relate to, ex. the agony of living in the NEast. Let all the snow melt already. Its weird seeing my course decked out in white, wiht flags still on the gree.

What shaft is the lowest spinning and lowest launching? (thousand replies: whiteboard, protopype, accra)

Does anybody still play ___? (I do, tried everything since, but nothing can knock my __ out of the bag.)

What Ball is most like the ___? (Definitely try the __, plays the same but about 20 bucks cheaper.)

Anybody buy clubs from ___.com? (Reply 1: Great service, totally legit, sent over a girl who gave me a backrub. Reply 2: I ordered a wedge from ___.com 6 years ago and amk still waiting for it, nothing but excuses, buy at your own risk.)

Do these launch monitor numbers seem right? (Post content: I usually carry about 280, but went to the LM and get these numbers: Launch 6*, 4900 spin, ball speed 126 mph, carry 205. doesn't seem right because I'm trying to play on the mini-tours)

Why I'm not a fan of tiger. (He cusses too much, even uses the lods name in vain. burns my ears. As long as he cusses he'll never be as good as Jack and he's a terrible role model, almost worse than hitler.)

These two are freaking hilarious! I was dying when I read those. Especially the second the launch angle one. The guys that come into the golf store where I work all sound exactly like that guy...they see the ball speed on the screen and immediatly come away thinking it is clubhead speed...then they ask where are Xtra stiffs rolleyes.gif .

Unless it happened recently pretty much every topic has been seen before.

I say we all just quit posting at all and shut all these sites down.....that will show all the idiots out there not to come on sites and ask dumb questions.

Then we can all cut off our noses to spite our faces.

"My Project X shafts are too stiff!"

Answer 1: "5.5 = S300"
Answer 2: "No, 5.5 definately = S400"
Answer 3: "5.5 is too light to be an S400, it's definately an R300".

I think we need a definative Project X thread. I've seen an obscene amount of well-intended but completely incorrect advice given in regard to Project X fitting.

Yeah, I love when people are BS so much about their game.

Like...
I usually drive it 300 with a nice little draw. I am a very consistant ball striker and a very good chipper. I'm a 15 handicap, but I would be about a 2 if I was a better putter. Can I have advice on...

If your going to lie about how good you are, you are wasting you time asking for advice or even playing golf. Nobody really cares how far you hit it and you will probably never come in contact anyone on this forum. And if you do, nobody knows who diehardgolfer or 3puttkid or pingperson really is. DON'T LIE!!!
hartman33
Well guys, there must be some very good ballstrikers on this board based on the number of AP2's being sold Or to big of an ego...
ckguy914
I think one of the most repeated one has to be "Project X vs Dynamic Gold" threads.

Don't knock it thats what i did, and I'm hitting the ball better than i did at my best parts of last year, as long as you have swing video and actually work on it i dont see if theres anything wrong with asking his opinion, thats what the board is for

Seriously if we take out every single one of these threads that you guys have suggested, we dont even have enough for a forum, just like everyone starts by sucking at golf, some of these people are beginners at forums laugh.gif

That is a great idea! I do not know how many times I have repeated the same information over and over about how stiff rifles in general actually are. I think I may just have to make this forum.

hey part of this is just having a laugh poking fun at ourselves - no big deal.

So, one more - "this is stupid easy to hit" ( as a mid to high handicapper ) I am thinking is
any club really stupid easy to hit?

Analyzing the sound of a driver is always a terribly interesting discussion.

And of course nothing is better than a group of guys talking about White Belts, Shafts, and Balls.
larrybud
To be fair, several of the "which X should I buy?" or "is X better than Y" can receive different answers since mfg come out with new equipment about every 30 seconds.

The rants about golf announcers are tiresome, however.

As new members join GolfWRX they're either looking for something in particular, or because someone has invited them to this site to check out, and to see what it's all about. This is what the internet golf site GolfWRX is all about, a place for all golf enthusiast's to hang out, share their experiences, and knowledge, and to learn from those with more talent or knowledge, AND to buy. drag.gif

Yes, I get a kick out of the repetitive nature of some of our topics but for the one asking the question or starting the topic, he or she either wants to know or to add their .02 worth, just to participate and to join in the fun. Nothing wrong with that! ok.gif

Good topic!

Here is my top 10 topics that always keep coming back...

1. Tiger's irons - Miura forged?
2. What is the best putter, wedge, iron, hybrid, wood, driver?
3. Strong lofts on new irons
4. Tiger versus Jack, Tiger versus Arnie, Tiger versus my Momma. - Best golfer ever?
5. The wedge topics, loft, bounce, 3 versus 4 wedges?
6. Flex
7. How far do you hit your 6 iron, Driver? - I think I'm going to start a new topic - "How far do you ht your putter?"
8. Blades versus CB versus GI.
9. Tour Player A is playing new putter, iron, driver.
10. Scotty Cameron, Taylor Made, Tiger, Phil love/hate threads.

The only ones I don't read anymore are 1 and 4. deadhorse.gif But of course for new members it is not...so put in your 2 cents and welcome to the forum!

"What ________ (insert club here, most often a 3 wood) should I buy"? What ________shaft should I try?

And that is it...nothing about your game, swing, handicap, ball flight, nothing. And even with that information, it is tough to try and help, being as we can't usually see your ball flight or your testing each club or shaft.

Tiger uses a Redboard painted to look like a Blueboard, but uses a special paint that shows up in pictures as a Whiteboard!
