PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Chinese authorities seized a record number of counterfeit golf products in late December, according to an announcement from a group of golf equipment manufacturers Thursday.
The raids in Shanghai and Shenzhen netted clubs, bags, balls and clothing -- all counterfeit. More than 1,000 counterfeit golf clubs were seized in Shenzhen, with an estimated value of $500,000.
Among the brands counterfeited were Callaway, Cleveland, Nike, Odyssey, PING, TaylorMade and Titleist.
The U.S. Golf Manufacturers Anti-Counterfeiting Working Group made the announcement. Loo Shih Yann, a principal with the international law firm of Baker and McKenzie who is representing the group, said he welcomed the positive action by the Chinese enforcement authorities but stressed that more needs to be done in order to get the counterfeit golf equipment problem in China under control. Its members include Acushnet Company-Titleist, FootJoy and Cobra Golf; Callaway Golf-Odyssey, Top-Flite and Ben Hogan; Cleveland Golf-Never Compromise; Nike; PING; and TaylorMade-adidas Golf.

I know it's only a drop in the bucket, but it's really about time they start doing more.
If they really want to crack down, just have them browse eBay, they'll find plenty of these on there
Maybe we should have a thread, more than likely in the auction fraud forum, listing things to look for in counterfeit clubs such as colors, painting errors, and finishes...
