I've been dying to know what my clubhead speed is and all of the other specs so I took my driver, my TM Rescue, my 4 iron and my 7 iron to a Golf Galaxy, that I just found out was relatively close to me, and they put me on the launch monitor. My clubhead speed avg for the driver was 105.9 while the avg carry was 250.4. The avg ball speed was 153.6 while the avg backspin was 3189 rpm's. My driver is a 9.5 degree and the avg launch angle was 11.6. This was with a ProV1*.

I also tested a Srixon ZUR and the avg clubhead speed was slightly more at 108.3 (maybe getting warmed up?) and the avg carry was 255.4. The avg ballspeed was 155.0 while the avg backspin was 3997. Not sure why the backspin was so high with this ball and the distance was pretty much identical.

I then tried the 7 iron and the avg clubhead speed was 91.8 and the avg carry was 166.

I then tried the 4 iron and the avg clubhead speed was 90.3 and the avg carry was 200.0.

All in all this was a very interseting experience. The equipment that they have there is very cool. Now I know what my specs are exactly and I would recommend that if you don't know what your clubs and ball are doing, go find out. This helped me a bunch. Simp

I actually just got off the phone with my father. For X-mas, I had paid for him to get a launch monitor session done by a company called "Golfing By Design" If anyone ever has the opportunity to hook up with these guys (they have a trailer that travels the southeast) I highly recommend it. While I have been on a LM before, my pops never had. He said the staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgable in getting the most out of his incredibly flawed swing. I knwo my father does not read this board, but I can never resist the opportunity to mock his swing.

Do they have a web site or anything to lsee where they're going to be, I'm not finding one doing a search.

Hey Simp,

How did those distances compare to what you get on the course/range?

Clmax, They were spot on. I hit my 7 iron 165 +/- and my 4 iron is 200 +/- and that's what the launch monitor reflected so I believe that it's very accurate. Simp

If you don't find that they'll be close to you, go to www.golftourtrailer.com and check their schedule. Right now it's showing two more stops here in VA, but I'd check back to see what they have coming up. I know they only stick to east cost type of things. They're very awesome though and it's well worth the money to get a proper fitting.

I will second that about the golftourtrailer.com. I went to them once and got my numbers with my woods and it was a great help. I lost the sheet and now I have not a clue what my numbers are. Oh well maybe I can catch them again. Great experience with them.

Seems odd your clubhead speed with a 4 iron is slower than your speed with a 7 iron...Was this a typo on your part?

I only hit two 7 irons and they went (according to the launch monitor) 162.6 and 169.7. Both shots felt good and they were relatively close distance wise so I believe they were accurate.

I hit five 4 irons and they went 188.1 (fat), 200.8, 202.2, 208.1, 200.9 so I think this is very accurate as well. So I'd have to say that the swing speeds are accurate as well Steve. Simp
