I will be in Kona in a couple of weeks and am looking for a place to play. I will play once at one of the Waikoloa courses but dont want to spend too much for the other course. Looking for a decent course under $75. All suggestions will be appreciated.

That's going to be tough. I would check into Makalei or the Waikoloa Village. I think these two courses will be the least expensive, but probably outside your $75 budget. I would think on the Kona coast you are looking near $150-250 to play, but since I rarely play out there and when I do it is for business and do not look at the rates, I am not positive. I think that the Kamaaina, local, rates are close to or above the $75 for most of the Kona courses.

Just got back from 2 weeks on the Big Island and I played a course there called Big Island C.C ,it was designed by Pete Dye and has an island green. They had a $55 special for over 55 year old and over on Mon and Thurs and I really enjoyed the course. What a fantastic island to holiday on.I'm already planning my return trip. Also played the Beach and King course at Waikoloa Beach Resort and the Beach is better of the 2 in my opinion.Twilight rates are 75 at the Resort courses and 100 at the famed Mauni Lani. What a great place.
