Anyone hear anything?

Found this on another site.

"Masters Tournament winner Zach Johnson had it all figured out last year. Along with the brass from his favorite restaurant -- Ruth's Chris Steakhouse -- Johnson had mapped out the meal he would serve at the Champions Dinner. There would be Iowa beef, of course, to honor his roots. And in a nod to his wife, Kim, there would be Amelia Island shrimp. Johnson had heard that Vijay Singh used the owner of his favorite Thai restaurant in Atlanta to prepare his menu in 2001, so he assumed precedent had been established for outsourcing."

Q. To use a word that you've used a lot in the last year, surreal, the last surreal honor for the defending champion is hosting the Champions Dinner. What have you thought about being in that room with that group for the first time and what have you decided to feed them?

ZACH JOHNSON: Yeah, well, I certainly had a lot of thoughts about it. I've kind of picked some brains of some other past champions as to what kind of takes place and whether there was a protocol to it and this and that.
Really, I've heard it's just a pretty casual evening. They just kind of stand around, chat a little bit and more or less, I hear a lot of the veteran past champions, if you will, just kind of tell stories. If that's the case, I know I'm just going to be a fly on the wall, kind of a sponge, just soak it all in and listen. I think I'll probably have to say a piece, and that's a little nerve-wracking hope I don't screw it up, considering the fraternity I'm in and the gentlemen that will be accompanying me. I'm excited. That's a lifetime dream right there and knowing that I'll be able to go back to that meal till, well, whenever, is pretty special.
You know, as far as the food, you know, we haven't really fully decided. We have a deadline, I think it's middle of the month maybe, right around there. But we have some ideas. We're trying to piece some things together and see how that works out. I have a feeling it's going to be some Midwest food with some Florida flair, if you will, where my wife is from, so we'll try to incorporate maybe a surf-and-turf type thing.

iowa beef, and gulf shrimp, but Augusta told him in no uncertain terms that the food must be prepared by the Augusta staff.

Thread cleaned up. It's pretty clear when someone says something for the sole purpose of getting under your skin.

Next time, best thing to do is ignore and hit button and report the post rather than giving a troll the attention he wants and egging him on.

How does that work? Is it a dinner for all the previous Masters Champions?

*Sorry if I sounded crude with the WTF simlie. I'd never heard of a Champions Dinner. I deleted my comment. *

The Master's Champions dinner is a long standing tradition. Every champion in the history of the tournament is invited, and the previous year's champion is the host. The host gets to pick the menu (although other items are offered from the dining room menu, as well).

I've read stories about the dinners, and people like Palmer, Snead, Nelson, and Nicklaus keeping the younger champs enthralled with stories of the past.

What golf fan wouldnt like to be a fly on THAT wall!!
