I really hate to have my first post brand me as an idiot or a dinosaur...has anyone out there tried steel shafts in their oversized drivers and if so what are your opinions?!?
I play X100's in a J and an E (43.5 length) and have great success with down the middle. Distance is not explosive, but in the 270-280 range.
Am I crazy to be playing these? I would appreciate your feedback.

i know others that play steel because they prefer the control of the steel and the weight helps there swing plane. i play steel in my fairway woods because i prefer the extra weight. i also use a 75 gram shaft in my driver which is little heavier than the norm.

If it works, stick with it! Mabye the extra weight helps you to stay on plane or smooth out your tempo. Consistent contact is a lot more important than pure swing speed.

A lot of people seem to think steel is dead, but I really enjoy the benefits. The shorter length, combined with the larger heads, gives me more confidence. I would much rather stick with steel than drop $50-100 dollars on a shaft that I might not like after a couple of months, already did that with Graffaloy Blue.
If you are crazy so am I

I only have one graphite shaft in the bag and that is in the driver... the shaft is a Diamana 83 which is relatively heavy. I've often considered putting steel in the driver but haven't quite got there yet.

I have a steel shaft in my driver and really like it. I was skeptical at first, but went with the clubmakers recommendation. It is not leaving my bag anytime soon.
