I am going to restore my Scotty Cameron that has a Pearl Mist finish. My question is, if I dip the putter in soda where the shaft meets the clubhead, will that coke soak in somehow and effect the epoxy job?

No it wont but you should pull the shaft anyway because you have to use heat to apply the finish, the shaft will get loose anyway if you want to finish cleanly all the way up the neck. You should probably use something like naval jelly to strip the finish and then all of the paintfill will come out aswell.

Good luck and we expect some pics along the way.

What exactly are you doing to the finish?

Coke won't do anything to the Epoxy, but as Peterm said, if you are doing anything involving heat, you should definately pull the shaft. I would pull the shaft anyways as it makes the head alot easier to work with.

Just my .02 Cents
